Horray! Welcome back Ziggy! So what are your top tips for a frugal break? Sounds like you did well on that front.
It helped that we were blessed with nice weather and the boys (we took our eldest grandson too) were happy to be out racing round or playing football. I did make sure I took my loyalty cards and any coupons were handy in my purse. We also were quite strict about slot machines and not spending too much time or money in them. We wombled quite a few coins - 1p/5p we brought home for money box rest we allowed for slot machines. Makng it sound awful aren't I but it really wasn't :rotfl: we ate out, lots of days out and an ice cream or two :rotfl:Nice to see you back Ziggy sounds like you had a lovely holiday.

Also meant to mention, I've been wombling the codes from newspapers - for example
The Sun - 15 codes gives access to Sunperks for 1 month and allows you to enter all comps and can claim cinema tickets, legoland tickets and other great days out too
I have also managed to win my 4th free lunch from Walkers - so well worth looking out for the bags with the comp on or even stray bags :rotfl:Goodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

You're right, it doesn't always have to cost a lot of money to have a fun holiday.
I remember going on a Sun caravan holiday with my friend, my son and her two children when my son was small. We were both skint and went with about £20 spending money each. We shopped and cooked as if we were at home still and one of my fondest memories of that holiday was treating ourselves to a cooked chicken from Mr T and a bloomer and all eating it with our hands on the beach!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I agree; have had many a grand time in a tent. My OH proposed to me a few years ago on such a holiday, on the banks of Loch Lomond.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi All
Returned home, am exhausted, but happy to be on track and not gone over budget.
So this next week I aim to do some gardening, try to get a plan to stop the cheeky fox who is visiting during the day and plan my next knitting project. Fancy doing some aran, but really should be cleaning!!! oops
Amazing amount of cars waiting to get into shopping place as we were leaving today. Was very glad to be on my way home, but I have had fun exploring clearance rails.
Have a good week all.0
