Foxgloves, my lipstick is down past the point where the manufacturer would like one to buy a new one but I've been using up the last of it by applying it with the applicator from an old lip gloss which seems to make it the perfect texture, more moisturising but not so much that your lips go gummy like they do with some lip glosses. Maybe something like that would work to make yours more moisturising too?

    Morning all :)
Didn't get to post yesterday as we were out for most of the day - restocking sales unit / Lidl top up shop in the morning (a few things I get just from there - their Greek yogurt is to die for, and cheaper than anywhere else :D) and out for a walk in the afternoon to avoid a noisy outdoor kids party next door - the joys of living in a terraced house :rotfl: We went for a nice walk and had a drink in the garden of a nice country pub, so cheap enough :) The party was still going on when we got back. The kids, who are very little, had lost it a bit by that time, and the adults seemed a bit boozed up, so still pretty noisy and went on quite late. Still, we like our neighbours and they don't do it very often - and they did invite us, just not our thing - so we handed over our birthday card and present and decamped :)

Raining this morning, so no car booting :( Will pop out in a bit to a Sunday indoor junk market in the never ending quest for items for my sales unit.

    Other jobs for today:
Clean bathroom floor again (bloomin' black and white tiles which show every speck of dust :()
    Dusting / tidying elsewhere
Meals from stores - I will make a big pot of Bolognese later, making sure I use up various bits and pieces that are lurking in the fridge
Plant courgettes and cucumbers out if it stops raining later
Stake broad beans, which have got very tall despite supposedly being a dwarf variety
Tie up various other plants which are going mad
Make a cake of some description as there are no treats left in the tin :(
Mend a pair of OH's trousers which have taken up residence on the back of the sofa...

Right, more coffee, then must get on with it. Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

    Morning All

Hannah - I think a lot of men are awesome and can do a lot. The current media trend for painting dad's as silly & incapable in adverts is worrying. I agree women do tend to do more around the house generally but many guys are very talented too. Here's to them!!

Foxgloves - I have found sains to be brilliant lately. I was able to get the 2,000 points myself a little earlier in the year but for spends of up to £30 a time x 5. Recently I have been given several vouchers for get 50 points if you scan the voucher at the next shop. And get £5 off a £30 spend etc. Mr T don't really compete on promotions in the same way.

So having neglected Shoptize & checkout smart for months I decided to have a nose last night & straight away earned 20p back on a pack of lettuce. I just need 15p more to get to the min £5 payout.

As it's wet I will be using the opportunity to do a bit more round the house. Finish some shredding. And get organised for back to school tommorow.

    * The aforementioned camping stuff was bought in 'Go outdoors', a company flagged up to me by allydowd a year or two ago. You can buy a yearly discount card for £5, then all purchases are at a cheaper rate. We renewed our card & this knocked a decent wodge off the items I forgot to budget for. One item must actually have been on sale too, as even with the discount card, it was £6 cheaper than we thought.

I love Go Outdoors (Link). They've a shop 20 miles from here, or we can buy online. And if you have their card and you find the same goods cheaper elsewhere they'll beat it by 10%. That being said, our card has currently expired, but we will renew it should we need to make a big purchase there, which hopefully we won't as all our outdoor gear is in good nick just now.

    Good morning DFW-Devotees,

Still under the weather but hoping to make the most of today nevertheless.

Welcome back Ziggy, we missed you. Foxgloves, your planning is inspirational.

My brain's like soggy mashed potato just now so I'll add to this list as I do it today. If I sit here writing I won't get up again. :rotfl:

    New Era Day 24:

:grinheart Found I can renew car breakdown cover now but not have it take effect for a couple of days. Gonna do that.

:grinheart May stroll up to local fly-tipping hotspot and look to see if anything can be scavenged for the garden. Not sure if I look more like a womble or Albert Steptoe...(Local landowner doesn't mind us scavenging.)

:grinheart Tell OH we're doing well with your electricity and gas usage so we can keep it up.

:grinheart OH is listening to story tapes we already own.

:grinheart Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight.

:grinheart Replaced toothbrush heads. Used old heads to clean around plugholes before throwing away.

:grinheart Pinned up combat trousers ready to take them up. OH gave me these trousers as she never wears them. They're brand new. Also need to replace a zip in another pair of trousers...might replace with something other than a zip! Found a good article on repairing zips (Link). Found some velcro in my sewing box; have installed that in place of the zip.

:grinheart Do some top-up cleaning with Stardrops and washable cloths upstairs.

:grinheart Empty mobile phone of a week's clutter.

:grinheart Clear out paperwork folder next to computer.

    :grinheart Do Royal Mail Surveys.

:grinheart Check finances. Found an error; getting clumsy in my old age.

:grinheart Open parcel from relative in the States. Included some gardening gloves and a cleaning cloth. Random but most welcome.

:grinheart Bought discounted fruit in local Sainsbury's. I wish we had a big Sainsbury's near us.

:grinheart Do own manicure and pedicure.

Good luck with your Devotions, Devotees.

    Morning all,

It wet and miserable weather here today so at day at home is the plan.

So far we've prepped Sunday lunch, turkey/veggies/mash/stuff & yorkie puds,
Stewing frozen rhubarb & summer berries with 3 apples and making a crumble topping (again adding the ground ginger out of my use up box) This will finish off some stork out of the fridge which I won't replace as I need to sort my weight out and baking isn't helpful!
We have my parents, niece & sister coming for lunch then hopefully board games with the kids.
Late afternoon is going to be a movie from stash with the kids & watch ninja warriors final from last night that we recorded as it was on too late for ds2 (he's so excited bless him)
Not much else happening mse wise today but I need to come up with a list/plan of attack for this coming week (and ultimately a plan to work out what I can get done each week between now and the school summer holidays)
Have a nice Sunday all :)

Morning all, it's a late morning for me again as I didn't go to sleep until late.

Today I will check out my mug garden, it looks like the Aquilegias have finally germinated but so too have the other seeds I planted in the same mugs when I'd given up hope of it ever happening. I might need to retire a few more mugs to repot some of them.

I should go to bingo with my mum later as I haven't seen her yet this weekend but DH is trying to persuade me to stay in. I need to get a telephone number from her as a friend of DHs is writing another book and put a call out for pics of a particular road in the town we lived in throughout my teens and I know that the son in law of my mum's friend used to live in that road and it turns out they knew each other and he wants to get back in touch. His wife won't be best pleased as she has always wanted him to distance himself from where he's from as it's a bit rough and the bloke writing the book is probably everything she hated about it. It's such a small world though.

I'm mentally preparing myself for the last few days of rolling out the project I've been working on for the last weeks. I feel like everything is in good shape, I just have to pray there aren't too many last minute changes. I have to pass the issue on press again next week which I'm dreading on account of a long and unfamiliar journey with a colleague and not knowing if there will be a loo on the train. I know it's all (mostly) In my head but stressing about it will in itself trigger my IBS. I may have to just not eat but then I'll worry about having dieters breath instead :rotfl:

    Have a good day everyone:)
