WANTED - Hair straighteners / GHDS / Babyliss Pro Elegance

My beloved ghds (3.1b) recently broke! A few days ago they started buzzing and working intermittently and now have packed in altogether. I know this is a common problem with ghds so I don't fancy paying 90 - 100 pounds AGAIN, only for them to pack in a year down the line. Does anyone know of anywhere where I can get cheap ghds OR recommend any other good straighteners? I like the look of 'babyliss pro elegance' but cannot find many reviews as they are fairly new. Any help much appreciated!

  • Hi same thing happened to my wifes last week she phoned GHD (number on website), they told her to post them back to them and if they couldn't fix them they would replace them.
As you say there was a common fault on them which to their credit GHD recognises.
    Worth a try

Did they request a receipt? I know I kept mine but I haven't a clue where I put it.

buy an identical pair...wait a couple of months then take the old pair back with new receipt and either get a new pair or your money back.....either way you won't have the receipt for the second pair...abit dishonest but.......LOL!!

I sent my ghds in just after they were out of the warranty, and was just offered £20 off a new set,so i don't know about the lifetime warranty thing. You can also get £20 off ghds from the hairdressers if you trade any straightners in.

STAY AWAY FROM GHDS. as someon that runsa sallon supply shop, i can tell you ghds are the most returned brand EVER!

The ones to go for: CHS V2, FHI or Babyliss pro 230 ( salon ones- of which im actually gonn ae selling on ebay later as i got 2 free pairs from a works conference)

If you know a hairdresser get them to buy them at trade price for you, or again try ebay, sallys or other suppliers.

My daughters GHDs did the same thing so I phoned up the company and they even sent out a bag for me to post them back to them so I didn't even pay postage. I didn't have the box or the receipt and they sent her some new ones very quickly. Good luck!
