Old Sim card is it any use?
I've dug out a Vodaphone PAYG sim card. It's probably part of one of Martins old basic mobile phone deals, about 5 years ago which usually had a £10 credit on it. I haven't used it.
When I put it in my old Samsung phone and try to find the number by *#100# it says no network or if I try to use it it says 'emergency only' (I think the phone is unlocked). Could I still use this card?

Normally sim cards die after ~ 6 months of inactivity. The credit gets confiscated.0

That's what I half suspected, although not that quickly!
Edit
BH it's 180 days for Vodaphone, even worse, what a rip off

Isn't 180 days = six months. So how is it even worse?
Considering the service providers are required to re-use inactive numbers I don't see what your problem with a SIM being inactive after years of inactivity. Certainly not a rip-off.0 -
In my experience Vodafone cut off after 90 days. They reconnected when I asked them, but then cut it off within 3 weeks. Asked again, reconnected, cut off after 5 days, gave up.0
