Thinking of buying a Tablet

Hi

As title states, thinking of buying a Tablet.

Any opinions on this one?

Personally I'd avoid buying now with Windows 8.1 when Windows 10 machines will be rolling out in the late summer. No-one really knows how well these tiny tablets will take the free upgrade.

The 1024x786 pixels resolution is weak too.

I would highly reconmend an I pad we have had one for 3 years now and it is very good, don't muck about with other brands and alway's remember "buy cheap, buy twice"

An iPad is a lot more expensive than the one the OP linked to though.
A few weeks ago John Lewis were selling the Samsung Tab pro 8.4 for £149 (it's back up to £199 now )
Now that would have been a good purchase.I bought one and it's easily as good as an iPad mini 2

Get one with an "unlocked" 3G/4G SIM slot and then you can use it almost anywhere with a suitable SIM, and not just where you can connect to local WiFis - we use ASUS FonePad tablets, but there are a few others, with GifGaff SIMs. These tablets are not very common, but well worth looking at.

PS1: Why, oh WHY, are there not more tablets, AND laptops, with SIM slots as they are far more useful?
PS2: If buying an Android tablet, go for one that runs Android 4.4 or later and has a microSD card slot as they appear make much better use of the card for data storage, so you don't clog up the on-board memory.

Buy Apple - and then be forced to pay "forever" to stay in the "game" - Not on YOUR Nelly!
  • I have a Lenovo tablet and it won't connect to my home wifi. It will work at my mums house as she has a different router to me.
It seems to be a common problem with a lot of Lenovo products..
worth considering and researching before you are disappointed.
