Earliest Pregnancy Test

Can anyone tell me if the earliest pregnancy test is the 5 days before your period is due?

Is there any better on the market maybe?

Some of the more sensitive tests can give you a result up to 6 days before your period is due but the result is very unreliable - if you are pregnant, you may still get a negative, and even if you do get a positive this early the egg may not implant well and your period may still come when expected.

Thank you for your help. I've still a few days to wait before I can test but knowing me I'll be testing everyday until AF. I'm very worried at the minute because I've made such a bad mistake x

If you are that early in your cycle still, it may be worth checking whether an emergency IUD would be an option? It sounds like you only had the sex quite recently.

Please, find your local clinic (what used to be called Family Planning) & talk to them?
They have the technology (IUDs etc) & face to fact facts as well as ruthless confidentiality.

Thank you all very much for your replies. I'm just counting down the days to find out. If I am pregnant then I'll be happy but it is not under the circumstances I would have like, but that is my own fault for making certain decisions and not being careful xx
