Does anybody here have experience with missing credit transactions to Revolut?
Their customer service is virtually non existent, i have checked with the originators bank as they suggested and all three transactions were authorised. Where can I turn to from here??? (The originators bank is in Germany and other transactions went through without any problems)

Hello, just wondering if anyone has any experience of the Sainsbury's Cash Passport travel card. I have checked out their online FAQs and fees, limits etc, but am unsure if this would be a good bet for a forthcoming long stay in Australia.
I already have a Halifax Clarity credit card and have used that previously in Oz for purchases, but wanted to also have a pre-loaded card for cash purchases whilst abroad.
Any comments, positive or negative, would be welcomed.
    Thanks for your help.

    Bad idea.

If you really want to separate your ATM withdrawals from the Clarity, try Monzo

Hi, I have just ordered a Revout card, but looks like I should have come on here first to see the problems.

We are only going to France and want to use it mainly for supermarkets and occasional restaurant, we are only loading £200 on it as we will also take Euro's.

Now is this the best card for us, and I'm slightly confused, do I just load £s on and it will convert it to Euro's when I spend it or do I have to convert it to Euro's before I spend it.
If the card fails, can I put the money back into my bank account or do I have to use the money up on the card via ATM's hoping it will work?

    Thanks as ever

You can do it either way, exchange to euros any time, if you think the rate is good for example, or keep pounds and it will be converted at the time of transaction.

What problems? I have been using Revolut for two years without problems. If you read the FAQs and use it correctly you are unlikely to have problems.

You can withdraw cash euros in France up to £200 worth fee-free per calendar month, then 2% after that, which is probably still cheaper than buying cash euros. Any unused funds can be withdrawn to your bank account without fee.
    Evolution, not revolution

So would you advise putting more on the card then than take actually euro's with us?

    Cheers for answer:beer:

No need to take Euros with you, as it will cost more for you to obtain them here. But the low ATM withdrawal limit is restrictive. For that reason, not a good choice. Especially as you had to pay for the plastic.
But if you intend to use it mainly for purchases, load all on the card. If an in-store purchase fails being put through as a debit card, ask them to put it through as a credit card.

Yes, but remember that over 230€ you'll be charged 2% for further ATM withdrawals.
Metro Bank debit or Monzo are probably better for holidays.
