Due to the nature of the holiday I think I'm going to be needing quite a lot of cash, and my US account (E*Trade) doesn't provide a card (hence the problem in the first place).

I know there's a £200 ATM limit before the 2% charge applies, but does the same apply to withdrawals over-the counter at a bank?

I guess I can ask revolut about that via their app. Even if I do have to pay 2%, I'm still happy to dodge currency conversions.

If anyone is planning on applying for a revolut card, they are issuing them really fast.

I applied for mine on Tuesday evening and my card arrived today. Never requested the express delivery.

Hmmm your first post is a promotion for Revolut.

But anyway issuing the cards quickly is no doubt a welcome change not previously seen.

I am currently requesting a Revolut card, I updated my balance then selected card delivery (I'm new to revolut but have confirmed my identity on it) and the app has been on the loading screen for this for a reallllly long time.... is this normal?

Can confirm revolut cards are currently coming fast on standard delivery - received mine yesterday! I think the estimated delivery date was something like 16th March

OK, I'm a newbie and could not find how to start new post...........
I am going to Australia with my partner for 3 weeks. We want pre paid travel cards as our debit cards are not recommended. We have no credit cards and would not be able to get any with very poor credit history. We want 2 cards (1 account). Who is best for this. I am NOT in London so that rules one of them out, sorry don't remember which as my head is cabbaged with everything I've been reading. TYIA

Warning for the post office travel money card
I should have known the post office would give poor service but this has been beyond a joke. Firstly the app not working properly so I couldn't top up the card for my son, and then refusing to speak to me to sort it even though I purchased and filled up the card for my son who is abroad. They can only speak to my son who has to pay to call them on a UK number from the USA sucking his funds dry while he goes through the wait and automated service. They said for my son to write to them to give me permission to speak to them, he did, I called, told this wasn't possible, so again he has to pay to call them from the USA. The app still won't work and I have to top up through the website, which does work they just didn't bother to tell me.

And you guessed it, he lost his card. And being the post office, they can't send a replacement to him in the United States, they can only send it to his UK address!!!!!! So they can't speak to me in the UK and can't send the card to him in the US, only to me in the U.K. Yes I'm SERIOUS. A travel money card they can't replace abroad for you, it would be laughable if it wasn't so serious for people who could be stranded with all their money on the card. It's been an absolute nightmare, never again. Oh and they changed the pin on the replacement but didn't bother to tell us, so finally got it to the states and now have to contact them at expense from the States again. Avoid, avoid, avoid, anything is better than this.

Monzo Mastercard exchange rate. No ATM withdrawal charge.

Virgin Money Essential Current Account Issue 2 VISA exchange rate, No charge for UK ATM withdrawals. £1.50 ATM withdrawal charge abroad.

One of each perhaps.

If you use smartphones you can both sign up for Monzo, via the link in the MSE article to jump the queue. Separate accounts but you can send each other money. Always have a backup, Revolut, Loot, your regular debit cards.
