Why do Forums not appear on home page?

Obviously it's not a site we would visit regularly so I search MSE on google, head to the homepage then spend another five minutes trawling all over the site to find a link.

It does appear - in the grey bar at the very top.
Also, it's the first 'sub-result' of the google search for MSE.

Not if you are reading on a smaller screen/browser size.

Then the grey bar disappears and any link gets hidden in the 'hamburger' menu which you have to click to find.

    Hmm...

If I make the window smaller, the grey bar does disappear and the 'hamburger' appears. However, in my FF this icon remains 'dead', i.e. not clickable.

Silly web design - as more overloaded navy/multicolour bar below remains.

Just testing, and I get in Firefox and Chrome here at least.

Width less/equal 780px (pixels are approx no.s) the 'hamburger works'

780 - 1000px 'hamburger' appears replacing grey bar, but does not work on click.

(That range probably falls in a gap of resolutions tested, or not tested much, between tablets/phones and desktops/laptops etc.)

Greater than 1000px, no 'hamburger' - grey bar is there.

Ah fermi that's exactly what I see. I use an android tablet, wonder if that's the problem.

Testing here on a Galaxy Tab 3 8", I get it working in portrait but not in landscape, which squares with that gap in resolution.

Not got an iPad to test with, but works fine under Chrome iPad emulation both ways on that, as either orientation falls outside that problematic resolution range.

If favourites are for the sites not visited regularly, what to do with the sites visited regularly then?
