Be grateful it was only £200. I had a "date issue" on a website a few years ago which meant that my new car insurance started a month after my temporary cover note expired, leaving me uninsured for a month. An accident during that month left me £20,500 out of pocket, my 3 week old car written off and 6 points on my license.0

Assuming you didn't and I got the story right, I would dispute the transaction. You bought tickets for Tuesday. You were charged for tickets for Tuesday. You didn't get tickets for Tuesday. Keep it simple.
As for "proof", it's for the CC to prove you authorised the transaction, not for you to prove you didn't. The fact you didn't collect the Saturday tickets which they claim you purchased adds some credibility to your story. Of course it is not as simple as saying it was unauthorised - the dispute is really as to what was purchased rather than whether there was authorisation.
It is a real pity you didn't check the confirmation. But I don't think this defeats your claim. That was post-the event.
Worth a try.
If they used 3d secure then its proof.
The onus is on the OP to make sure the tickets are right not the merchant and bank to hold hands.0 -
Having looked at the lastminute.com Theatre site, and the booking process, I believe the OP on this one. Indeed, it does reset to the next available date and performance if something goes wrong - it's just done it for me.
That said, on the page where you enter the payment details, it confirms the date on the right, in a box that stays with you even when you scroll.0
