there is a sweetie factory near us that is a nut free site - guess what got put out last christmas during the buffet lunch? yep peanuts - factory totally closed whilst they decontaminated and production dumped. my dd was dairy allergic, luckily she grew out of that but i used to do dairy free parties for her. she used to love swedish glace ice cream'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Just to let you know that Kinnerton make nut free chocolate products. You can check out their website at https://www.kinnerton.com. They've been a godsend to me over the years, as they make some of the well known characters like Thomas, Barbie, The Simpsons. Dont forget https://www.itsnutfree.com, although I have to say im not that familiar with their products.

I'm now that man you see in supermarkets reading the ingredients, putting the package back and muttering "why do they need to put glucose syrup into a processed meat product?"

This made me laugh as I'm the woman going "Why do they put lactose in everything!"
To the OP:
Our ds1 is now at grammar school and they have been so helpful about his lactose intolerance. The PE teacher had chocolates as prizes for some stuff and ds1 had to refuse one even though he had won - the next week there were boiled sweets in the prize tin as well - just in case for ds1. It does get easier when they can "police" themselves as well.
Blue monkey - I'm very interested in your theory - as ds1 and I are both lactose intolerant and we're both 1st born - although ds2 has mild eczema.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
