Vodafone won't give me a contract but credit history is excellent???

DCFC79, that's fair enough but I'm trying to resolve this issue. Any advice? I've gained a copy of my credit history via Equifax and it's pretty much spotless. The only debt on there are my credit card and mobile phone contracts and the balance on both are 0 at the moment.0

Thanks Eeasp, I'll give Experian a try.0

In the past I have received three phones from two third party retailers that the sims were never activated , rather than ring to query this and alert them to to a problem I inserted a spare sim and used the phones. If the accounts had become live I would have fulfilled the contracts that I had requested however as they never became live after several months I sold the phones .
I may be wrong but I am told that as long as you don't insert the sim that was supplied with the contract they cannot be blocked....maybe someone could comment on this ?
You are wrong, A phone can be blocked by its imei number meaning no sim will work (in the uk)0 -
Also, Eeasp you have helped because I am single but I'm also currently living with my parents until I find a property. Perhaps there is an issue with my parent's history? This is something they won't discuss with me, however, if I ask Vodafone for a manual review, I'll surely be able to proceed further with my application! Right?0

I was rejected for an O2 contract because I used a hotmail email address, when I used my NTL one it was accepted0

Oh and lastly Eeasp, I am on the electoral roll; I voted a few weeks ago!0

You should not be linked to your parents, however do you and your dad share the same name, or could they be confused?
Is there anything unusual about your address? Its possible it was mis entered or mis keyed. Could it be registered as a number on the electrol roll but you put in the house name on the form, odd punctuation problems, or any indication it may be temporary (do your parents run a B&B is a good example) are all reasons an automated check can fail.0 -
Vodafone never review a decision until at least 3 months later.0

Thanks for your reply Keith, i have been in contact with vodafone and they have said that the 3rd party sales did not activate my new sim, i (stupidly) gave them the sim number and the sim will now be active in 24 hours, I don't think i could have taken the risk of waiting for the contract to become active or not, as then i may have signed up to a new contract in the meantime and ended up paying for two.
Isn't that exactly what you've now achieved by activating the new sim???0 -

Insufficient time at that address? Lack of actual credit history if not registered for utility bills etc?
What lenders want to see is a steady history of credit being taken and repaid. No free lunch, and no free laptop
