    What was it? Just curious.

I only usually enter for prizes I want. I won an Ipad mini that I sold though, so I could buy a samsung tablet. Then I ended up wasting the money on takeaways and eating out like most of my money!

A large number of people got into Comping as a way to have nice things by winning them or selling wins to afford them! I don't think anybody needs to Justify their reasons as to why they Comp but this is a money saving forum so don't see why some people get so upset or offended when people do choose to sell their prize on.

I think the comment "would sooner do this than actually bother to go out and work then save money to buy stuff they really want." is rather narrow minded I know many Compers that do work aswell as know some that cannot work due to having a Family to look after or being out of work due to illness.

Just remember you can win something WORTH alot but worth alot to who? You will find when you sell wins you will very rarely get the actual worth of an item and will be offered much left so it's no get rich quick scene but if someone chooses to sell a WIN in order to treat their loved ones, pay the rent or put food on the table in case of a crisis so be it.

I for one have no problem with it - Although if its for local tickets with no intention of going or signed goodies that seem junk to you then this kind of thing should be left to those who truly want it as they would not sell for much anyway but be priceless to a genuine fan and you can spend your time more wisely entering different things!

Sell it, if you win something it belongs to you ... do whatever you want with it (in accordance to any applicable terms of the competition)

The person that will moan because you won a sheep trough and have no idea what to do with it is likely the person that won a PS4 and is using it as a door stop.

Not sure where that came from :/

Really? The amount of time taken to enter comps and the amount of wins equates to a lot less than any minimum wage job. The majority of people I know comp as they have spare time and rather than just sitting watching the telly on a night they do something which gives a bit of a return.
I was reading my local paper earlier and noticed in the for sale section someone trying to sell £100 Itunes vouchers for £70 that they won in a competition from heart.... Guess thats how desperate some people are to try and make money...

You don't know the circumstances though. They could have won it a couple of months ago and were saving it for a christmas present for someone but then an unexpected bill has appeared like the car breaking down or something and they need to make cash quickly and so are trying to sell things they think will sell quickly.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Underpriced, lots of vouchers seem to go at almost face value on e-bay - although £70 is still a good tax free return for the minute or less it will have taken to enter the competition.

Years ago I won £600 worth of Halfords vouchers and really struggled to spend them.
This was before I had 2 daughters so didn't really need car seats, bikes etc. I managed to spend/waste £200 on stuff for my car and my dad's car on stuff neither of us really needed and got rid of the other £400 on Ebay.
One guy bought them for £375 cash in hand and he was delighted when he came to collect them as he'd saved £25.
No Ebay fees for me either as I just cancelled the auction.

Took the Mrs away for the weekend with the cash.

I keep most or give to friends or family but at the end of the day, it's up to you what you do with prizes.

Yes cos none of us work, what happens if like me you enter for every fridge freezer going and then win 2 in a short space of time?
Should I have kept both for possibly many years, one not in use obviously and of course nowhere to put it in the house and storage costs would have crippled me at the time.

Or as I did sell the better one so someone got a bargain and I got much needed cash. Same with DVD player, I won several in a year unknowingly and some as part of a package. Should I have kept them all? I gave 2 away as well.

Oh and the time I won currys vouchers years ago, I bought all new white goods, got my son a play station and various other items and still had time limited vouchers left, I got 2/3 rds of the face value, worth it to me and the buyer.
If we win, everyone wins in some format.
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

Narrow minded if you like... they must have an awful lot of spare time to be able to enter everything with the intention of selling it on....
this appears to be an assumption you have made to be honest rather than the actual truth

i have a full time job and enter competitions in my lunch break and in the evenings, i've won 2 of the same thing before and although i've given them away i would have absolutely no problem selling one of them on if a friend or relative didn't want it, and i don't have any issues with people who do sell things on

if the competition has been won fairly, then they can do whatever they want with their prize in my opinion

I personally wouldn't sell on items I win but I only enter for things which I would really love anyway so have never been in the position of having an unwanted prize.

Perhaps when ITV call me a month apart to say I've won the same Jeep twice I may sell one on! ;):D

I'd feel bad taking a prize away from a fan or enthusiast of a specific team/singer/event/sport etc... so I'm against anyone making money that way (same reason I dislike ticket touts - I once paid £300 for front block tickets for the Spice Girls as the general sale sold out so quick...I know, I know - don't judge me!) :)

I completely understand why people may need to sell on prizes & I guess what anyone does with their wins is no one's business but their own.

I enter for things I'd love to have/give to someone else, high-ticket 'luxury' items that I can sell on to help fund my savings, but not for things like kids' items/pushchairs/prams/household goods I won't need that could be of genuine use to someone who needs them.

Those are my morals, and I'm sticking to 'em.

Also, I have a full-time job as well as working freelance and still manage to enter and win plenty of competitions. The majority of compers aren't slackers or shirkers - either we have a genuine reason to not be able to work, or we just have VERY good time management skills.
