Depends on whether Plusnet TV it's worth it to you in your circumstances.
To my current package, I added the Plusnet Youview+ box which has the entertainment package built in and added the entertainment plus package for an extra £3.
The deal I was offered is probably not for everyone but is worth it to me considering that I was only 3 months into my 18 months contract:
Fibre Broadband 3/3 services charge £10.99 reduced from £14.99, phone line £17.99p, Caller Display 99p, Youview+ box and entertainment plus £8, waived youview+ £50 activation charge, new 24 months contract, but I lost the discount of £5.48p. Total cost is £37.97 a month for all 3 services. Overall I'm now paying £1.48p more for fibre broadband than I was paying lol. I might challenge that when I get my bill.
I'm saving £16.98p because I cancelled Now TV entertainment and movies which wasn't being used and I'm saving £5.99p because I cancelled TV Player Plus. And ... phew ... I can unplug all my boxes and watch everything on one box and the only channels I'm losing are those which no-one watches. For me that's a win-win.0 -
The only reason we have Sky is that after switch off there was a too good to miss offer. Otherwise I was quite happy with the smart tv features and was deciding whether to re-install the existing Humax or buy a later model as they have some very good refurb offers on their website.
I normally buy from Richer Sounds, but Humax's offer on the latest model (catchup and 4 programme recording) was low enough to risk just a one year warranty.0 -
I got the youview+ box from PlusNet last year. I was an existing customer at the time. It's awesome, particularly as I was looking to get a decent PVR anyway. PlusNet TV is normally £5 a month, but they gave it to me for free for 12 months on an 18 month contract. They do do BT sport - I got the basic sport package thrown in for free as well, but I paid extra for the HD channels upgrade. Sports wise I get BT sport 1, plus 2 Eurosport channels. You can upgrade to the full BT sport package which gives you about 8 BT sport channels (I think), not sure of the cost though. I also managed to haggle the £50 activation fee away, and they refunded the delivery charge for the new router and Youview box.
The premium channels aren't a bad selection - main ones I watch are Discovery, Nat GEO, and Syfy, but I think there's about 20 altogether. If you haven't got a decent PVR, and would watch some of the channels included in the TV package, I think it's very good value. I'm a big fan of PlusNet anyway having been with them for years and always had good service.0 -

It's been announced that Sky are likely to lose the Discovery channels and Eurosport ,because the companies want to charge much higher fees. This may affect other buyers of these channels.too
It's more likely that Sky want to be free to increase their prices to their customers while not wanting to pay more for those channels they are making a profit from.
But Sky are likely to be the losers amongst those who anticipate Sky following through with the cancellation of Discovery et al: My son has dumped Sky broadband, phone and TV and took the same Plusnet package I have which is fibre broadband, telephone and Youview+ saving two-thirds of the money he was paying to Sky!0 -

A deal was made and Discovery stays.
I moved to PlusNet for phone and broadband and can't wait to leave.0 -
I have youview with hd addon. To be honest its not bad value as you get the pvr as well. I really only use it for watching Discovery and Natgeo. I dont find even on them channels much to watch and we get a awful lot of repeats. When my contract expires in July I dont think I will renewal it (18 month contract)
I just find much on tv not entertaining much these days even on terrestrial0
