Kernow parking Solutions Mousehole

Had a ticket on on Mousehole car park from this outfit. I had parked ina bay and was displaying a blue badge as i was taking a freind to the cafe. I didnt see on the board the little sentence saying blue badge holders are not exempt.
I was just about to send the money off when i say that its a PO box number and you have to phone a mobile number to pay by card which i wasnt happy with. So i did a google search on them and this site came up. So glad i did as i am strapped for cash as it is.

So am i right in saying that i just sit and wait to see if they contact me and if so send the rejection letter that i can copy and paste. I have spend a few hrs looking on here but honest its not clear. (well not to me)

Thanks PC

    This "outfit" is this geezer:

Robert Ley of Goldsithney, parking ticket tycoon and Kung Fu master. Cornwall's answer to Rupert Murdoch and Bruce Lee all rolled up in one scruffy package!

Either wait 'til he sends you one of his rubbish notices in the post and then deal with it as per the Newbies thread, or ignore him. Personally I'd do the latter.

Yes, wait until you get a NTK through the post. The chances are you won't but if you do, come back to this thread for more help.

Do not pay, never 'phone a PPC, do not reveal who was driving.

Genuine question, but why did you assume you WOULD be exempt?

We've seen a few BB holders caught out by this and it just seems a bit odd that you would assume that you would be exempt.

While I think that 99% of PPC's are scammers I do have to agree with your comment, many BB holders do get themselves into a whole lot of unnecessary bother by assuming they get parking for free, I just don't get it!

I don't know why BB holders need bother with car parks when they can park wherever they like on double yellow lines without penalty:-)

    Hi
Its partly my fault i know as i was from Birmingham where they are exempt from parking charges. A lot of other authorities also are. It was my friends blue badge so i wasn't on the ball but it was an honest mistake on my part. We had to use the car park as my friend cant walk very far and wanted to use the cafe at the bottom of the car park so needed to be as near as possible.

no m8, definitely not (and yes I am a BB holder and was an orange badge holder too - so a long time owner)

no matter where a BB holder parks, you have to check the signage

the problem here is that many BB holders dont read the blue booklet and seem to assume they can park almost anywhere for free, yet its simply not true (I think it goes back to orange badges when free parking was almost a given anywhere, especially council and hospital car parks, apart from private pay and display car parks like NCP)

the EA2010 (and the DDA 1995 and DDA2005) havent clarified this and unless the government changes the BB scheme to encompass private land (or the rules on council car parks) then nothing will change, councils tend to charge nowadays but give extra time concessions due to the EA2010

I dont have a problem with this OP or his friend needing to get close to the cafe or shop, its the blatant ignorance and not checking the blue booklet and the signage that makes this look bad for all of us

there are many people in all walks of life who think they know the rules, but dont bother checking the rules

I can assure you that my BB rarely lets me park "for free" on any car park , be it council or private

it does let me "park for free" in on the road paid for by meter bays, on the road restricted time limit free bays , on the road free disabled bays , single yellow lines with no restrictions , double yellow lines (where no loading chevrons or restrictions apply) and possibly other places where concessions apply

as for private car parks, it all depends on the "rules", as I have learned over the last 2 years, whereas I too was very ignorant of the "rules" before coming here for help on other private parking matters

the blue badge blue booklet can be easily downloaded as a PDF and read in adobe acrobat reader , so there really is no excuse

we have to pay for these badges too, they are not "free"

It's irrelevant where you come from as the BB scheme does not apply on private land anywhere in the UK.
