I didn't send first one in by recorded del, I used the envelope they sent me and will do again.
I'm not stressing, just curious what the routine was as I am new to all this.0 -

While in principle, there is no problem doing this, you are reliant on everything going right, and everyone being reasonable.
If the cert gets lost, or delayed in the post, problems that take a long time to fix may arise.0 -
I had same problem last week, sick note ran out on 20th and couldn't see GP till 22nd. Plus my payment was due on the 22nd as well.
So i rang helpline and she extended my sick note by two days to make sure it covered that payment.
There well aware of this problem, just ring them tomorrow.0 -
I am due to be paid on the 1st, so the payment should have been authorised today, so hopefully I can get it sorted before next one is due.
Even if I get proof of posting, if it goes missing, I will still need to get another note off the GP and send that in0 -
Photocopy note before sending thats what i do.0

If you are due to be paid on the 1st you don't have a problem. Payment will have been released already as payment takes 3 working days to go through. Just get your new cert from your GP and send it in by post. Make sure you complete your name and National Insurance number on the form and add your mobile number to help them send you a text to confirm it has been received. They should send a text anyway if they have your mobile number on the system, but putting it on the cert saves a bit of work and is appreciated.0 -
I sent my fit note a week ago, still not had a text to say they have got it, how long does it take?0

When sending anything to DWP, make sure you copy it first for yourself and send it by 'special delivery' as 'recorded delivery' can get lost.0

I was told that they do, that's why they ask for your mobile number.0
