Without being maudlin sentimental I hope you know just what a wonderful bunch you are? Docky and I have been on the receiving end of so much love and caring from each of you that it is a truly humbling experience, your kindness and support is giving me such strength I can't find the words to sufficiently say thank you, but I do, from the bottom of my heart and your being here for me is beyond value. It's hard to be able to do nothing but wait for the inevitable to happen but I feel the warmth of you with me and it is such a joy to my soul to know you are here and care, wonderful, wonderful friends that is all of you!!!
Docky managed to take the top off the tumour agin today but it stopped bleeding on its own so now just looks gruesome but is not giving him pain I think. He is currently fast asleep in front of my armchair with his squeaky squirrel on his paws from where he was throwing it at my friend Jane who popped in to say hello, a hooligan in a lampshade thundering up and down the lounge in pursuit of a fluffy squirrel is a joy to behold, even if he can't keep it up for long these days. When he'd finished jumping up and slurping poor Jane he demanded squirrel throwing until he was zonked (mind you at that point so was she) so he's in fine form and as long as I know he's happy so am I. One day at a time and make the utmost of every one of them, that's what we're doing!!!0 -
Afternoon all
Mrs LW, hugs.
LW, I hope you are ok with your big lodger, I sometimes dogsit a huge labrador, he is very well mannered but he fills the lounge when he's with us.
JackieO, I hope it all goes well.
Hugs to Dumpling, Camelot, Elona, Molly & Hilly.
I spent the morning with DD1 & the twins, it was lovely to see them & spend time with them all, I took a teashirt over for each of the bigger kids & they love them.
I have to collect hubby at 4, so I shall do some pottering before then.
Have a good day everyone.

Did a washload - hung it out - rain started!
Window man has been, such a lovely man, and gave me a heart attack with the price but it needs done and will be better than paying nPower to heat the back garden. Installation at the end of June. :j
Since we moved here I've not had my music streaming system going, not so much because of the move but because I bought a new laptop and ditched the desktop. It took a bit of fiddling and swearing but I got there eventually, scanned the music and it's working. I do really enjoy having music in the house and not always the radio. :j
I've got the woodburner going as it's so cold today. I have to go out in about a hour or so and not looking forward to the rain.
Camelot :eek: Hope you're more mobile now and less sick!0 -
Doorbell just went and a lovely bouquet of flowers and anniversary card has arrived from DD and SIL . Today would have been our 33rd anniversary and I had been feeling down but it really helped.
Nipping out to library and post office and putting a bolognese sauce in oven when I go out."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

Afternoon, ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
A bit of a frustrating day, no matter. Spent an hour or so digging out plants and potting them up. This afternoon we went into town to pick up a strimmer which will help with sorting out the veg patch at the house. I will strim everything down and then double dig a 12 foot square of OH to plant up. Then I can do the rest as and when.
The sign has gone up outside this afternoon, so the neighbours will know we are on the move. We have people coming to view on Friday.
Right, I have a bit of a problem, we are toiling for cash,we need a cooker, the one here is built in. I think the 'hole left for a cooker is only 55cms, so do I stretch the budget and buy a new cooker? Do I buy a 2 ring electric hob as a temporary measure whilst I save up for a cooker? or do I see if I can get a decent second hand one as a stop gap? Answers on a postcard please!! LOL.
:D
Nothing from the outreach worker so the keys have not been given in, so obviously they are still working on it.
I need to go and unpack the new wheel barrow OH has bought, there is a most peculiar smell in the sitting room, coming form the box its in.0 -
Hope the wheelbarrow isn't already full of manure csarina!
Personally, I would stretch the budget for a new one, but I think I might try Freegle or the likes first. Buying a small hob or second hand one could be a false economy.0 -
Afternoon all. Been AWOL for a few days as the blooming laptop went haywire yet again and been back in the computer hospital. I have been lost with no internet though I can access it on my phone with great difficulty! Repairman has got it going again and this is it's last chance - scrapheap next time and will invest in a more reliable one. If anyone is on the lookout for a laptop don't consider a Toshiba Satellite - even the repairer says he gets lots of them in and it's not one of their better models.
I have just skipped back over the last few day's threads and, oh dear, lots of illness and accidents amongst you. (((HUGS))) to all in need as well as dear Docky. I remember well the heartache caused by poorly doggies.
Well my electrical breakdowns are continuing. An electrician amongst our "neighbours" at the caravan site has diagnosed our problem - it's the 12v battery charger that has died and I have had to order a replacement - £135!!! He is going to fit it for us when it arrives so that at least saves a bit of money getting a repairman out to it.
On top of the expense with all the electrical stuff packing in at once I also have the added expense of new specs! Eye test this morning and she confirmed what I already knew - I need new glasses! So they are now chosen and ordered. Surely my expensive run will now be at an end.
Have a good rest of the day if you can everyone. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
How about a worktop mini oven with a couple of rings on top? If you are only two in the household that would be enough to get by with until such time as you can get a full sized one. The oven would let you bake or do roasts etc. and two rings would be spuds/rice/pasta and veg or sauce. I think they are pretty reasonably priced too. Do you ever read Frugal Queens Blog, she has one and used it for her and her DB for money saving purposes and cooked the whole range of normal food on it very successfully.0

Had to get out of the house today so popped down to the local caf! for a cuppa and a croissant - not so thrifty, but the peace of mind was good, as was the sunshine.
Popped into Sainsburys for cat food, which I bought using Nectar points I forgot I had, so it only cost me £1 for 3 weeks worth of food.
Must make an appointment for the docs, so that's my next job.0 -
Lyn I'll put as much into the painfree vibes for Docky as I possibly can. Having a job to type this, for some reason my eyes are leaking.
I can just imagine the ol' fella with his squirrel toy.:oHard_Up_Hester wrote: »LW, I hope you are ok with your big lodger, I sometimes dogsit a huge labrador, he is very well mannered but he fills the lounge when he's with us.
Hoping also that all goes well for JackieO - coming home with the "booby" prize, perhaps?:D
I'll get my coat....If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
