BT Line Rental Saver - Not Much Saving?

Hi all,
Just after a bit of advice / sanity check...
I've upgraded to BT Infinity 2 from one of their 'standard' products, and am a bit unsure as to the line rental. For the purposes of this thread I will only discuss the line rental costs.
What I currently have
Unlimited weekend and evening calls
Unlimited ADSL broadmand
Line rental - £16.99 per month
What I have upgraded to
Unlimited weekend and evening calls (no change).
BT Infinity 2
Line rental saver (paid 12 months in advance).
The 12 month in advance cost (line rental saver), I have noticed whilst checking my order (due for installation this week) was £248.88; over 12 months this works out at a monthly line rental cost of £20.71 (not much of a saving, in fact the very opposite!).
Checked the detail on the one off payment and the BT website states:
One-off payment: £248.48
Your recurring payment amount can be found on your order confirmation.
Payment method: Direct Debit
Contract length: 12 Month
Checked the 'recurring payment amount' on my order confirmation as suggested by the BT website and all it states is:
You've paid your BT line rental in advance for 12 months
With Line Rental Saver, you're not just saving money; you don't need to worry about paying your line rental again for 12 months.
At the end of the 12 months, you'll have to pay your line rental every month at the standard price unless you reorder Line Rental Saver. If you do reorder, but not straight away, you might see a charge for line rental on your bill. But don't worry – we'll refund it soon after you reorder.
You can reorder up to 27 days before the end of your 12 months by going to bt.com/lrs. We'll remind you nearer the time by email and with a note on your bill.
For more about Line Rental Saver, including terms, go to bt.com/lrs
How you'll get your bill
You'll get your bills: Monthly.
If you used to be billed quarterly, please go to bt.com/help/billing for more information.
You'll pay your bills by Direct Debit.
You can check your bill at bt.com/mybt
Thoughts / comments:
1. To me, this looks like I've paid double for line rental saver.
2. Or alternatively have I paid for broadband AND line rental up front for 12 months? If so, great.
I, of course, plan to speak to BT for clarification but was wondering if there's something I'm missing before I sit on hold to a call centre.
Many thanks.

To me, looks like they have included a charge for Evening/weekend calls -can't believe it includes unlimited fibre broadband:rotfl:
If it did, everyone would be moving !!0 -
Line rental saver is £183 ish, so if you have paid £248 it must be something as well as LRS, was there a connection charge for the FTTC broadband and a charge for the router delivery ? or have you paid for extras like call minder or caller display , things that used to be free but now are not, one is paid for, one is only free if you commit to a new minimum term , you appear to have paid about £64 more than what LRS costs on it's own, I would be asking them what you are being charged for0

I'm going to give them a bell tomorrow - working late in the day currently so by the time I get to a phone it's past their opening hours.
Some further research and googling indicates they charge around £65 for a new connection (which I do not need) so I think I could've been charged for this; will discuss with them.
Thanks so far for all your comments.0 -
Could also include p & p if you have been supplied with a new BT Hub??0

Activation fee? But it shouldn't apply to Infinity 2, only Infinity 1.No free lunch, and no free laptop

It's an ADSL to fibre upgrade.
This would mean a VDSL master socket upgrade, which requires an engineer visit.
A new modem is a must.
£248 for an engineer's visit, a new modem/router and Line Rental Saver for a year sound alright.0
