Need default off my file

Hi everyone,
My first post is something that has been talked about on other posts but I need some guidance about what to do regarding my exact situation.
My defaults are shown as follows:
Lowell
Account type Telecommunications Supplier
Account number ***********
Account start date 27/04/2009
Account end date 18/02/2013
Opening balance £ 181
Repayment frequency Monthly
Date of default 08/01/2011
Default balance £ 181
Lowell reported default on July 2012 and it was satisfied Feb 2013
Natwest
Account type Current Account
Account number **************
Account start date 13/10/2009
Account end date 30/04/2014
Opening balance £ 391
Repayment frequency Monthly
Date of default 30/11/2011
Default balance £ 689
Natwest reported default on December 2011 and it was satisfied May 2014
I would like to try and get these defaults removed by either challenging that they followed procedures correctly and asking them to prove it or by just asking them and seeing if they will remove as a gesture of good will.
My Lowell account was originally from 02 so not sure what they were doing in the time it says I defaulted to when I was contacted by Lowell.
The Natwest was an account I opened spent the overdraft and didn't keep up with the payments. They added interest and unplanned over draft fees etc.
What is my best options as I am looking to get a mortgage this time next year so have the next 12 months to try and get them removed. Any help is appreciated. Letter templates would also help please if you suggest I should write to them.
Thanks
Mason

You have acknowledged and satisfied these debts, on what grounds do you wish them to be removed? Clean up as best you can the rest of your credit record and go and see a whole market mortgage advisor. The chances of either of these defaults being removed are slim, apparently some lenders consider the defaults spent after 3 years if you have the rest tidied up (no late payments etc).0

Unfortunately, only incorrect data can be removed from a credit file. You would need to prove that these accounts were always up to date in order to try and get the defaults removed. If you are unable to do this then they will remain on the file for 6 years from the date of default. You may be able to challenge the date of the default; depending on the circumstances, under the Information Commissioner guidelines a default should normally be registered within 3-6 months of the account falling behind - https://ico.org.uk/
You can try and help other aspects of your credit file by doing things like making sure you are on the electoral roll and removing any financial associations you don’t want (with people you may have had credit with in the past). Sometimes people also find it helpful to their overall score to use a very small amount of credit each month and clear it in full the following month. This shows a responsibility with the credit and avoids having to pay any interest.

What if you dispute the debt ever existed. Plus the fact it has been sold to lowell's who have placed the alleged default on your credit file. Despite contacting experian their reply is only that lowell refuse to remove it.

Is this the same with a CCJ or does the 6 years only start when you satisfy the default/debt?

"What if you dispute the debt ever existed."
By paying it off already you have kind of admitted that it did exist.0 -
The disputed debt is still unpaid. I have only just found out it when lowells sent me a letter some 5 years after the alleged default.0

If you can get someone else to admit the debt they can transfer the defaults0

Have lowell provided you with evidence of the alleged debt? Have you written to them to ask them for evidence?

A CCJ drops off your credit file 6 years after the judgement date,
Is that also the same if you have a larger amount of credit each month but clear it in full??
This will help build up a positive credit history. Potentially if it was a very large amount compared to your income then it could cause issues with being accepted for credit based on affordability concerns of the lender. The disputed debt is still unpaid. I have only just found out it when lowells sent me a letter some 5 years after the alleged default.
If you haven't yet written to them then I would start by sending them a prove it letter - there is a template for on here - Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letterA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Option 1 - Forget the past and pay your bills on time every month till 30/11/2016 then you will have Excellent credit rating.
Option 2 - Ring Lovell & Natwest and ask them for a settlement figure, if you pay the outstanding debt in full at a discounted price would they amend the default date or mark as fully settled ? then goto option 1.0
