Funny, I picked up some car mats yesterday. £6 from Tesco.

Fit well, does the job, but I personally don't see the point in spending good money on something you don't really see.

There are plenty fitted mats available on eBay if price is a concern - but no mats will last as long as the genuine ones.

If you do buy aftermarket ones it's important that the front ones do not move around on the carpet beneath.

Get a set of genuine screw-in velcro pads from any BMW dealer and put a couple of matching self adhesive velcro pads on the underside of the new mats if they don't have the correct velcro patches - the OE ones do of course.

Join a forum for your specific marque and you'll find that they often have genuine mats for sale from someone who has changed model.

I obtained an as new full set of fitted rubber mats for the winter for £25 on a forum 'for sale' thread.

Don't spoil your car with old carpet samples trimmed to fit,

Don't forget that Car Mats should be well fitted and ideally quite heavy to keep them in place. They to present quite a danger if incorrectly fitted.

what ever mats you go for dont get a set of one size fits all universal mats

if you can run to OEM mats then that is the best option but can be quite expensive, look on e bay for a second hand set as many people take them out and sell them when the car goes for part ex

if you cant run to the oem mats then look at one of the fitted sets that are made specially for your car, great tip by ice re looking for velcro fasteners to hold them in place
