it is a bit annoying I specified pay first and they have ignored that and assumed cash is fine

Cash on collection is the normal way to do business for items that are pick up only.

Doubt very much buyer is ignoring your request, more likely buyer knows the 'deal' with cash on collection and Paypal/ ebay.

Also, consider a buyers view in that you ask for a Paypal payment prior to pickup, what if said item is not as described, or faulty, or simply the person selling does not have said item due to compromised ebay account. Payment made and no item is a tricky place to be.

Grab their cash while you can :)

    What about parking?

They will presumably need to park in order to get out of their car to collect the item. If it's large, I assume you weren't going to lob it at their open car window as they drove past?

I didn't see any question regarding parking either.

I might be wrong but I think they're making a point about OP username. OP never mentioned parking and is clearly confused about their mention of it.

However, questions don't have to relate to usernames and this clearly has nothing to do with parking. Not sure why they'd expect a question regarding parking based on a username.

It's bank holiday - lighten up folks.

Yes I was expecting a question from the chap about parking, owing to his username being parking question chap.

However I did offer some very helpful but sadly ignored advice.

Also let us know if the buyer managed to park OK without any queries.

Unfortunately, sometimes people need to be a victim of a scam before they take any notice of people's advice. I find collection only to be a bit of a nightmare. If it cant be couriered, I normally take it to our local auction house.

Their first question was obviously about parking. Quite common for people to base a username on their first question then end up posting other questions.

You don't know it was ignored just because that part wasn't replied to, but that's what happens when you confuse people.

Anyway OP, I hope you take the advice of these posts and the collection all goes ok.

I have sold something recently on ebay. Its a large item and I have stipulated Paypal only in the description and to be paid before collection.

The buyer is now asking for my address but has not paid.

I dont want to be awkward but I am uncomfortable giving address before payment.

Am I within my rights to stop proceeding with the sale unless they pay first?

Paypal rules state they require tracking for any protection.

It is therefore unwise to accept Paypal when someone is collecting the item. They only have to click 'item not received' then they get both item and money back.

If they try to haggle, just refuse.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I dont want them to start haggling.

I've sold several collection items, and nobody has ever tried to haggle with me.

They give me the cash, I give them the item.

I like cash, saves on PayPal fees
