Premium Diesel

I had another thought with premium diesel, how do we know we are actually getting what we pay for. It would be very easy for a garage to accidently put normal diesel into the premium diesel tank. A fantastic way to make a good profit methinks.0

Well how do we really know if we are getting the correct 'grade' of anything, when it comes to that.
Blended whisky in a malt whisky bottle?
'Steak' mince?
Organic anything?
Some things we just have to accept - but backed up by strong laws and penalties for those who cheat.
That's why we have consumer protection agencies - we can't be expected to police everything ourselves.0 -

If anyone can remember the huge explosion and fire at the Hemel Hempstead refinery some years back, there was no premium fuels available for several weeks.
So what could have been an ideal opportunity for retailers/fuel companies to be naughty and prof either by passing of standard fuel as premium, or even not having supplies of standard fuels availalbe, it didnt happen.

It would also have been a very obvious time to get caught. Don't get me wrong though I hope it doesn't happen. If anyone can remember the huge explosion and fire at the Hemel Hempstead refinery some years back, there was no premium fuels available for several weeks.
