Santander Debit Card Upgrade
Comments

I am hoping for an upgrade to the card not replacement. I had a contactless card before I changed to Santander and been with them since last october with no problems and asked them to consider upgrading.0

I needed to use a public toilet while travelling in Austria and didn't have the coins so used my Santander contactless debit card to pay the 70 cents (50p). Was shocked to find that Santander charge a NON-STERLING PURCHASE FEE of £1.25 which made it a very expensive wee! Complained online but only got a statement of their policy. I hope my next Halifax Clarity card (which I generally use for all overseas spending) will have a contactless facility.0

The only bank I'm aware of that gives a contactless debit card as standard is first direct. Most of the other large banks have non-contactless and contactless depending on status.0

That's NOT a 250% fee. That's a £1.25 fixed fee on a 50p spend. Your heading is rather misleading! (not to mention rather off-topic)0 -

Whatever happened to spending a penny?
New Clarity cards are contactless. You can order a replacement online.
There's two options to choose from online. You can request a replacement or report your current card lost or stolen.
If you request a replacement the old one will work until it arrives.
This is what I did. My card has started to peel and it sometimes failed to work.0 -
Talk some rubbish don't you. 4757 is Santanders main BIN
Check your facts before you start trolling.
4757 is the BIN for a Visa Debit On-line card. (Black numbering)
4547 is the main Bin of a Visa debit Offline, including contactless (Silver Numbering)
There are others also, from when A&L was bought over.0
