Lightweight large suitcase

We have these suitcases, which even when empty are heavy.

Last time we checked in for our outbound flight, we were overweight, partially due to the weight of the cases,

Anyone have suggestions for the same size case, but half the weight?

We have these suitcases on our return from Florida with a load of shopping and the largest one full to overflowing the weight was 20kg and the medium one was only 12kg.

Bought them through Tesco direct, they might be included in the current voucher boost offer?
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

They also sell them in Matalan, B&M and have seen them in Home Bargains.

There are different makes, so look for ones that look like this.

I gave one to my sister who lives in Australia a few years ago, as she bought for her new Grandaughter, then had to get one to replace it. They are not cheap but well worth it and are stronger than they look. Always use a luggage strap though.
  • Is this what you're referring to?

If so, confused about what size would be suitable.

You wont get the same size as you have had previously, but the nearest one will be the 30'' version. It is taller, but a few cm narrower and is also a few cm deeper too.

All in all it will be of a similar if not slightly bigger volume than the ones you have already. Yours has a volume of 86 litres, the 30'' one is 113 litres. The 26'' version is only 79 litres volume, so slightl;y smaller, although with them being soft sided, you can fill them out a bit more than rigid cases.

Just remember to put any fragile stuff in the middle of the case and wrap it up to prevent breakages. You dont have to do that with rigid cases as much.

Well, the large Carlton in your original link is 86 litres so the equivalent IT would be in between the 26 and 30" ones @ 79 & 113 litres respectively.

Kipling luggage. Certainly not cheap but well made and lightweight. Lots available on Amazon.

I bought this one from Tesco in store- £40,(was £80) its a large 4 wheeled soft body light weight case.

I also have the IT medium case, however the Revelation one feels much more sturdy.

We have a couple of lightweight Antler cases - they are great.

That thing. Great case, surprisingly sturdy, and I believe that's one of the cheapest places to buy it?
