i would be more worried about having the policy cancelled, he will now have to declare it and premiums will rocket, as well as struggling to get insurance

I'd say they've declined to quote rather than cancelled a policy.

I got the same impression - he has been insured with the provider and doing this job for a while now and it has only come out in the wash that it's an issue now that a renewal is being discussed.

Only just started the job. Advised Insce due to renewal. Only option as I see it is for him to quit now. He is going to ask if he can just work in the kitchen for now until hopefully something else turns up

Personally I wouldnt tell them about the delivery part - just say he works in a takeaway ie behind the counter.

When I was at college in 1997 I had a part time driving job for a local car garage but I used to do some valeting, but my insurance company were just told I was doing part time valeting as it was cheaper (I was even MSE back then lol)

That's all very well and good until he has a crash when delivering.

Or is stopped by the police.

The police in my local town used to do random weekends where they would target fast food delivery drivers to check for insurance

They wouldn't find out that way, he'd be covered for business by the shop so that would be the end of the polices interest.

This is one of my favourite threads on Pepipoo, they have a forum policy of only offering advice and not posting judgemental opinions.

Make your mind up on this guys predicament...

How would you explain away the evidence the police have irrespective of whether you were guilty or innocent.
