    I slipped up one day in Tesco's recently, I didn't check my receipt until I got home and discovered I had been overcharged on two different items.

    I normally check my receipt in store

    Handy tip: if you fall over in a supermarket don't get up; ambulance will be called; at least 4 hours in A&E; possibly an overnight stay for 'observation;
    ensure all tests are comprehensive and recorded at length; sue for compensation (after you've rescued your car from the car park and discovered you've nowt to eat because the shopping didn't get done by family as they were too busy visiting you in hospital).
    .................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    I knew a lady in her 70's who slipped on a spillage, broke her hip and was hospitalised for weeks. She lived in a very rural location with no close neighbours so had to move in with her sister for several months for her post-operative recovery. She was left in a far more frail condition than the lady I first knew, so much so that she had to sell her home and move into a flat near her sister and also give up driving. A truly life-changing accident for her. She did not claim any compensation as she accepted that the supermarket can't be aware of every spill on the floor the moment it has happened and that it was just extremely bad luck that she was the next person to go down that aisle. More amazing is that this was in California, home of the compensation culture.

    My mum sliced her leg open on a milk trolley that'd had the front panel left hanging... sliced it right open. She was about 70.

    The staff took her to the office, cleaned her up, took her shopping/money off her, stuck a bandage/plaster on her leg and waved her off to walk to her bus stop.

    That's how things used to be done.

    Wow, not only did they nearly slice her in half they robbed her as well :eek:

    My mother tripped over a door mat that was sticking up a bit out of the metal frame in her local big Asda store and fell into a nearby shopping trolley. A very nice soldier collecting for the armed forces, told her to stay still, called an ambulance and stayed with her. She has heart problems so was treated for this by the paramedics in the ambulance and then taken to hospital. She had a broken shoulder. She did contact the store later to get the details of the charity who had helped her, to give them a donation and just to check that they had fixed the door mat and moved the trolleys from by the entrance (as it was falling aginst these that caused the injury). She said she was shocked at the number of people who asked her if she was going to seek compensation, when she said she just felt foolish about the whole incident and was grateful for the kindness of those who helped her and the fact she made a full recovery.

    Picked myself up. Told them about the spillage so they could clean it up. Carried on with my shopping. The end.

    Pretty much the same except they also put it in the accident log.

    I spent the next 6 weeks on crutches with damaged ligaments etc in my knee, the thought of claiming never actually crossed my mind....oh and avoided the store for the next few weeks as I felt such an idiot!
    We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
    Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
