In fact, can't find Morgan Stanley or Buy and Fly in list - is it because they have been bought by Goldfish?
Morgan Stanley have been bought by Goldfish and they are currently not accepting any new applications, which is why it is not on the Stoozing site's BT Cards Table. If you visit the MorganStanley website and try to apply, you get the following:
Unfortunately we are currently unable to accept buy and fly!™ MasterCard applications as we are updating our systems with a fantastic new offer. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please visit us again soon.
I have added Morgan Stanley back into the Card Issuers Table under Goldfish. It had been there but was removed when the B&F card was withdrawn.

I have recently got a Virgin Atlantic card from MBNA...
Hi Clariman - I'm thinking about getting a virgin credit card to take advantage of the 10% off advance train ticket purchases.

I'm tempted by the v-atlantic card (free white) for its bonus vafc air miles, but not sure that it'll work for the 10% off trains. Would you mind checking for me? All you need to do is put the 1st 6 digits of your v-a card into the box after clicking on "Click here to buy your tickets" @ http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/vmoney/default.aspx

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like it doesn't get discount on train tickets. I got the message below ..
Code supplied is not valid for this promotion

  • I thought the wording of the Virgin credit card meant the minimum repayment was £25 a month (it's worded in such a way to give that impression).

But I've just had my first statement - minimum repayment £117. Obviously the money's there to pay it, but it's more than I expected.

I wish I'd a pound for every time this issue has been raised!

    From the Virgin summary box...
If the balance shown on your statement is £25 or less, it will be the total amount of the statement balance; (It's not, so it isn't!)

    or

if the balance shown on your statement is more than £25, (It is)

it will be whichever is the least of 3% of the statement balance

    or

the total of any Payment Protection Cover charges, interest, handling fees and default charges plus £5,

provided that it will always be at least £25.
So, what does £117 equate to?...3% of the statement balance...or the 2.98% fee + £5?

Your second and subsequent minimum payments (during the introductory period) will be £25.

Ah. The £117 is 3% of the balance.

The transfer fee+£5 would have been £118.

So next month, as the fee was on the previous statement, the minimum repayment will be £25.

I've been stoozing for years but this one confused me somewhat. Thanks for clearing it up.

So the Virgin Credit card does NOT get you a discount on train tickets??? Cos I was JUST about to apply for one for a bit of stoozing (as they allow BT's to bank accounts) and a nice little card to use for the train tickets!!!

Slow down, slow down. There are 2 different Virgin MBNA credit cards: the Virgin Money one and the Virgin Atlantic (AMEX) one. I was asked about the Virgin Atlantic card (because I have one) and it does not seem to allow you to get discounts on Virgin Trains using the offer that the other poster asked me to test. I don't know about the Virgin Money card.

Looking at the Virgin Money website, it would appear that the Virgin Money card does give discounts. See http://uk.virginmoney.com/credit-card-v1/offers.html

I posted this thread about an offer I had from virgin In July http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=506580
The main point is that it gives a number to phone ..It is the virgin rates department ..They evntually were the ones who authorised a cash transfer at a balance transfer rate ..On my statement it reads balance transfer ..Not cash transfer....
If any one is thinking of Stoozing virgin ,This may be a way of knocking the charges down buy quite a few quid ....Now all i need is a good card that i can transfer £7500 for another good stooze in a few more months ...
