Easyjet luggage delay claim

Options
I'm sure this has been covered a fair few times before, but up to date info/advice on these matters is always handy.

Easyjet left my luggage at Gatwick when on a business trip, and wasnt returned to me until the evening of the next day.

As per their policy of up to £25 per compensation for every 24 hours you are affected, I was, in their eyes only deserved of that amount.

After a bit of back and forth, I managed to increase this to £48, stating that I was indeed affected by their screw up from the moment I landed as suit and laptop etc was in luggage.

It still does even nearly the cover the hassle involved but at least I was able to increase my claim.

Hope this helps anyone else travelling with not-so-Easyjet

The airline standard for an outbound flight is reimbursement of essential items, for some people £25 will cover it for others not (and if this was on a return journey the standard is £0)

you seriously had a laptop in your hold baggage!! - if it was damaged or lost, the airline would have no responsibility for this

It is an old, work laptop and I purposely didn't want to carry it with me as I had a bad neck/shoulder injury at the time. It was in a padded laptop carrier within the luggage itself as well. Was fine when I finally got it back.
