SSD installed and my windows experience score went up by 0.7, But my RAID setup always scored well anyway.
Even with that i can tell the startup is a bit faster. So installing an SSD does seem worthwhile. I wonder how long it will last?
Its a 256GB which i think is the minimum size really unless you done really install stuff.
Even though i installed a lot of programs onto a larger drive the boot partition easily exceeded 100GB.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

"system restore , delete all but latest , then sys file cleanup again "
I don,t think the figure is actually set at Number of gb , the size is in relation to the number of restore points there are
Thanks freddy but deleting restore points still left the 84gb allocated to System Restore. You have to physically adjust the settings as explained here

I went for a 250gb SSD in the end but I think I could have easily got away with a 120gb drive.
30GB for Windows, 10GB for progs, 5GB system restore and everything else would be put on other drives. Perhaps I don't install as much as everyone else.0 -

If you think thats wow your going to faint when i mention its a dual (many) boot system with 4TB in total.
And its in a shocking state
I have old installs that no longer boot for one reason or another, all my fault though and with the space i had originally it was easier/faster to just use my initial backup to create a new bootable partition.
Why spend all that time installing the OS when you can install it once and clone it then use that to create further partitions, Complete install in a few minutes.
Not even the SSD can do that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
