Two weeks ago we applied for a sheltered housing bungalow, this afternoon I got a phone call from the Council to say that we could view it next week and go forward to rent it. To be honest we have already seen it, just what we want, 2 bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. It also has a big garden which OH is desperate to get at. There has been a veg garden at some point, its full of weeds, so guess what my job will be!! I will try and get a 12ft square dug over so he can get stuff in. The seed box has been out. I think the weekend will be spent in the garden taking out and potting up plants we want to take with us.

Evening all,
Been quite warm here today, have been rather lazy, had a cuppa with DD4 and DSILtobe, they went off then to look at a car, they want something bigger than their Clio, havent heard how they got on, think that theywill look and look for ages and buy nothing!
Csarina....good to hear that your search for sheltered housing is at last at an end, hope that it will ease OHs dependence on you .
Dinner today was chicken thighs roasted with potatoes, peppers and onions....very nice. Made a rhubarb tart earlier which turned well, didnt try it yet.
Bought some plants when we went to vote and OH put them in window boxes for the downstairs wi dows....havent "inspected " them yet as no doubt there will be some re arrangement to be made!
Cant seem to remember anything.....brain fog has taken over, so will just offer hugs and kind thoughts to everyone.

Good evening everyone, not posted for a while.
Well today has been a nice day and quite warm. I've finished work now for a week until the 2nd June, so hoping to catch up in the house and do some relaxing.
dumpling I love hearing about your new puppy, he sounds lovely.
tru I love hearing about Scampi too.
csarina good news about the sheltered housing
Not done much in the house all week, DD keeps making me go to the gym after work, so will be busy this weekend as it needs a good tidy up. Plenty of washing to do as well, as DS seems to have put every piece of clothing he owns in the washing basket.
Have a good evening everyone, hugs to all.SPC 11 #4450 -
Evening
Finally got a minute to get on here and post, not sure when next time will be. DS is home and looking forward to finishing college in 3 weeks as he then starts work, I am proud of him as he has struggled academically due to learning disabilities but has got a summer job which will boost his confidence and who knows what it might lead to, he is good with his hands and can do lots of things. DD comes home from uni this weekend, cant believe another year has gone by, one more to go. She is very bright and finds the work interesting and enjoyable, although doesnt really enjoy a lot of the student life, fortunately she has got a nice house with some good friends to live with from September. They are like chalk and cheese yet very close, it will be lovely having them both home for a while. DS was at his girlfriends tonight so I had pot luck from the freezer for dinner, took 2 tubs out, turns out one was chilli the other was curry, slightly strange combination but tasted OK.. DW loaded but not full so will go on tomorrow, WM done a load, put out this morning now on airer as felt a bit cold when I got it in. May make bread tomorrow, will see how I feel. DD might want to make it if shes doesnt get back too late. Ive been watching the flower show on TV and now feel inspired to grow some veg (have a small patch that might be a good space. We have lots of clay in our soil and everything seems to get swamped. Realise its probably a bit late to plant now, but might see.
I too enjoy hearing about peoples pets, we lost our old dog back in January and have decided not to get another for a few years, I do miss him though. We are all busy and with kids being away/working. DH being away and me working it wouldnt be fair to get a puppy, roll on retirement....Thoughts to all. Mrs D.
