  • Morning, ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Well OH came home last night after they checked him over to make sure he had not had a heart attack. He has been told to expect to have the irregular heart beats from time to time, he can take an extra tablet but basically put up and shut up.

I was exhausted when we got home, made some supper, washed up, got in the shower and into bed.

OH came up about an hour later moaning that he was sat down there on his own......I could have said something but bit my tongue. The irregular beats stopped just after he had taken his night time dose of medication and he is ok this morning.

Need to go to Morrisons for a top up shop, will try and get to Aldi during the week.

    Good morning everyone!

Slightly grey day today but last day of the week before a bank holiday weekend!! Yay, and I'm off next Tuesday as friends of ours are getting married.

Will be a quiet weekend for us as OH is studying for his exams. I think I'll spend the time decluttering and sorting things out, he reckons there's not much to do but I'm not a fan of having anything on show - I'm very minimalist!

Going into town at lunch with a colleague as it's her birthday and we all had a collection to get a voucher for her. Possibly put for tea as well as we haven't celebrated out engagement yet just the two of us!

We met the vicar last night who will be marrying us next year. We've obviously met him many times before but this was to book our date in and took about what will happen. It's all so very exciting!!

I love hearing about Max dumpling, please keep updating us!

Everyone seems a little happier on here this morning which is nice to hear, lots of love and hugs to you all though!

Deleted_User glad your hubbys home but its so much more pressure on you.

Dumpling so glad your enjoying your new pup.

Nothing for me to report about today I think. Picked up some reading glasses yesterday so I can see. I am planning on taking some books back to the library this afternoon and am still wading through Series 5 of Game of Thrones but that's my lot I think.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning all,

Seems odd that we have had an earthquake. Carolbee, glad it didn't affect you too much.
Think we are going to the caravan either this evening or tomorrow morning. Hope I can trust DS2. Last time he had an impromptu gathering... Think he has learned his lesson.

Hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday weekend. Bit miffed the full on sun hasn't arrived yet!

Thank you all for listening to my wittering on about my puppy. I hope it isn't too boring. I am just so in love with him and to see his little furry face every morning gives me such joy. He also has a puppy kong which I fill with treats.
Keep posting - I probably don't need to tell you that I love reading about furbabies.:D

I am now sporting a lovely set of bruises on my thights - product of 4 days of Pippa leaping up at me like a mad thing whenever I so much as pick up my coat; she gets so excited about her walks, and like most Westies (she's Westie X JR) she's a solid little lass. Good job I wear long skirts, so the bruises don't show!:D

To give a better idea of her, she is completely Westie-shaped, but has some pale brown fur on her back and her ears - that's the JR part, I guess!:o

I thought I caught something on the Cl@ssic fm news about an earthquake in Kent - wasn't certain I'd heard right, as I didn't have my hearing aid in, as I was in the bath at the time! I hope everyone in that area is ok, and has suffered no structural damage.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon All,
I tend to lurk more than post these days but I'm quite proud of a discovery of mine. Last weekend OH and I went to a local butcher, who sells at wholesale prices to the public. Bought so much meat - 5kg chicken, 5kg bacon, half a gala pie, 2 packs sausages, 6 large pork belly strips & 30 eggs for £50. Going to last us a good 2 months :T
Then opposite, I noticed a greengrocer, also selling at wholesale prices. Got giant plums, apples, mange tout, mushrooms and blueberries for less than £10 - lasting us well over a week.

All so much better quality than the supermarkets too and lasting much better too. As we're getting ready to open our new business venue in the summer, we also popped to cash & carry and opened an account there too.

Just wanted to share this in case you have any wholesalers near you which may have a public counter. So worth looking them up to see

Roofers finished - and the new guttering too so that's the end of the work. Unfortunately the old cast iron guttering and downpipes (with lovely headers) were too rusty to use so it's black plastic at the back and a bit of imaginative moving around at the front. :j

Weather turned out fine, still windy but the rain stopped at about 1.00p.m.

Hope others had a good day too.

Had a day of cleaning, 3 loads of washing line dried, it cleared up here about 11am Gers, the sunshine must have taken a couple of hours to get up to you.

Bathrooms done, everywhere hoovered, bed made up for DDs pal, winter quilts put away in vac bags, ironing done - and put away (my least favourite job), courgettes planted out and I have taken a couple of pallets down to the cellar so that everything is clear of the ground (sometimes has water on the floor in very wet weather).

Also had a walk to town and closed a couple of bank accounts, called at Ald! for a few bits and found a butchers! Treated myself to a rump steak that cost £4.40 but was worth every penny. Haven't had steak for years and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Going for a nice bath in a minute so I can catch up with some TV later.
    Have a good weekend.

Older DD set off this morning for her conference and goes back to Oxford tonight.

Middle DD got back from America around 11 a.m. and we had a cuppa and a good natter. She had a fantastic time and has learned a lot.

Just been talking to youngest who is stressed to bits as she has essays and revision to do for exams and has missed lectures due to coming home when DH was in hospital etc. Hope I cheered her up a bit.

Tomorrow me and middle DD are meeting other dd in York and going to see a film together then have a healthy salad for late lunch.

Had a nice shower and now in new pjs and just slobbing around .

    LW

Glad you are enjoying your furry visitor so much and vice versa.

The cat toy I ordered for DD's pet arrived just after she left this morning so will keep it till they next visit.

    Hugs to all

Elona - can she apply for 'extenuating circumstances' and get an extension for her work? When my father died in April '97 I was just about to start my final piece of work for my degree (mature student!)and was given a stay. It meant I didn't complete or graduate with my cohort but was allowed to do the 're-sit' sessions in the September as a first attempt. Meant I kept my grades and my mind!
