Three want to cancel my contract
Hi,
My first post, yey.
I found an awesome deal on Three's website last week and promptly snapped it up: A refurbished Nokia 6280, 750 minutes, 150 texts, 18 month contract, half price line rental for 18 months, £50 cashback via credit after three months, monthly cost £17.50. I also got £32.50 by going through quidco.com and punched in a code I got from Google to receive a free bluetooth headset!
I've received all the paperwork, various confirmation emails and have the phone, sim card and accessories. My sim has still not been activated, a week later and today I got a call from Three. Apparently the deal I purchased is not a normal deal, it was a 'bug' on their webiste and they can't honour it. They want me to return the handset and transferred me to their cancellation department where a chap introduced himself by saying 'I understand you want to cancel your contract'. At this point I said I didn't want to cancel and ended the call.
Are Three entitled to force me to cancel or do they have to honour the contract they offered me via their website?

Weird. It doesnt sound like that great a deal anyway. It hardly seems worth them going through this for it anyway.
I dont know, but guess they can do this if they want to though.0 -
I think as you have received the goods (they accepted the order and shipped the goods) that they have accepted on their part to form a contract. I guess the key issue here is at what point does this become a legally binding contract between you and 3.ummm...0

they'd have to serve you notice if the contract allows it (usually headed something like "ending this agreement") though may be different wording with Three. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

I would hold onto the phone - its upto to them to collect it from you. YOu've done your bit.
If they dont activate the SIM, they cant charge you for it - that phones got your name all over it
As a side issue - its not that good a deal actually - its available to anyone, and 3 actually rang me up telling me how APPALING the 6280 was (record number of bugs/glitches/returns = REFURBS!!!)0
