I assumed that everyone who's house hunting considers the direction the house and garden faces! I have a compass in my handbag for when I go on house viewings. The EAs find it mildly amusing, but who cares? I've caught one out trying to pass an east-southeast facing garden (i.e. practically east-facing) off as south-facing before. He looked a tad embarrassed when the compass instantly proved him wrong!0

Why would you need a compass? The quickest look on a map would tell you everything you want to know.0

No. In nearly 40 years of home ownership, I have looked at dozens of houses (bought 5 over the years) and never once worried about (or even considered) which direction it faced. Finding somewhere suitable and affordable was far more important. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I have no idea what direction the garden of the house I'm buying faces, every time we've viewed it it has been pouring with rain so I've never seen where the sun hits at any time of day.
I've had a look on google earth and it looks like the garden faces east - is that good or bad?0 -

good for morning sun in your back windows, bad for evening bbqs outside your back door, but given a long enough garden it doesnt matter at all.0
