My towels last a lot longer that just 2-3 years. The thing that annoys me is trying to find bath towels which are a decent size, it shouldn't be hard to find but what is often described as a bath towel is nowhere near big enough.

The larger ones are usually called bath sheets.

That's what I get but what is a bath towel for if not for using after a bath/shower?

We have towels that are over 25 years old! We have several sets so they are not being washed so often. I like the Christy ones, also M&S and John Lewis.

For hand towels that get a lot of use, I like to change them every couple of days, personal hair/face towels every week, and bath towels after about 5 uses.

We have heated electric towel rails, on timers, so towels are not left hanging around damp.

We always buy ours from Dunelm, they have so many colours that you can always match them exactly to the colour of your bathroom! And they are lovely and thick and stay good - some of ours are almost 10 years old and still thick. Not expensive either

A bath towel is quite big enough for drying yourself after a bath. A bath sheet is mainly for you to envelope yourself in and swan about luxuriously in.

I buy towels from TK Max. I've never understood the need for a bath sheet, I get tied in knots in them and a bath towel dries me fine. OP, if it's just the colour that's faded have you considered dying them?

John Lewis Egyptian cotton range are thick and luxurious without breaking the bank. Once you've dried yourself with one you won't go back to cheap thin cotton towels pedalled by most of the High St stores.

They come in a multitude of colours and sizes.

We were lucky enough to get Sheridan towels at massively discounted prices when my OH used to work for them, so I got used to great towels. Eventually I've had to start replacing them, and the two places I'd recommend are TK Maxx, but, even cheaper, and just as good quality, surprising, are Aldi. Towels come in a range of sizes, up to bath-sheet size, and I think they're really good quality & value.

I think I bought mine from M&S. They were nice and thick. I change mine twice a week because it doesn't fully dry out by about thurs/fri and so stays wet and leaves me wet.
