Ive often heard stories about people booking their holidays, them falling through, and people losing loads of money...
Advice is usually given to book it on your CC, then if the worst happens, purchase protection ensures you dont lose out...
Now most cards off around 90 days purchase protection.. but most say you need to pay for the purchase in full... My holiday consists of 3 components, the fligh.. booked in the UK.. tour of New Zealand booked with a New Zealand Co... and a week in Fiji, again booked direct with resort... Ive paid deposits on all of these on a CC...
Im hoping to pay the balances off each, within the 90 days so that I am hopefully protected.. is this the way to do it..???
Some cards say the purchase must be paid in full.. does that fact I have paid a deposit affect this, or as long as I use the same CC, I should be ok??
Any advice would be welcome

I think with holidays your on quite dodgy ground, most purchase protection that comes with cards covers loss / theft / accidental damage only, obviously none of these can happen to a holiday.
Only protection I can see that you will get is getting your money back if one of the companies you are dealing with goes belly up and cant provide what you have paid for.0 -

Thats exactly what I was trying to get more information on.. the fact that Ive paid deposits on them now.. and want to pay the remainder off within the 90 days of cover....
Do I still get cover if I have paid deposit now, and remainining balance within the last 90 days, when I havent paid for the who purchase in full within the 90 day cover period??0 -
Some cards have insurance against accidental damage to goods/theft for 90 days, this is what you are referring to.
However your protection should a company you deal with go bankrupt/fail to supply goods/supply inadequate or defective goods stems from the Consumer Credit Act 1974, whereby the provider of credit is equally responsibly with the merchant for the supply of goods and services, provided the amount paid is above £100. This applies to travel, and it does apply to payments outside of the UK.
So should you pay by credit card, assuming the amount of the transaction was above £100, you will not lose your money as the credit card company is required to refund you.
However, don't expect the card company to tell you this - they will probably tell you to go to the merchant, but don't let them fob you off!0
