court order

I have a boat in a marina, the owners of the waterway that is the only access to it have refused to allow me to move it via their water. Its 70 ft long not a canoe !
I am wondering if I can get a court order to come to an agreement or force them to allow my boat to leave the marina.
Does that sound reasonable ?

Why have they refused? Is there a debt involved?0

I have a court order from them for non payment of boat licence fees.0
-
If the fees are owed then why not just pay them?
I assume you realise that non-payment of a court order will lead to a registered CCJ that will trash your credit record for 6 years?0 -

Paying the fees owed is what sounds reasonable to me.0 -

Maybe they are in the process of instructing bailiffs or high court enforcement officers to collect the money owed and they don't want you to remove your assets before this is carried out.0 -
Just a point of curiosity, but ... how can they physically stop you taking your boat out of the marina?0

Nets at the opening to the marina? Trespass if you've been told you can't enter?
If you cut them to "break free" I imagine it would be criminal damage.
I suppose you could get a crane to pick it out of the water and put it on dry land but it may have to have a very long reach and possibly a large ballast/anchored into the ground if you tried that path.0 -
Sounds like a water-tight case to me. Pay up.0

Sounds like the OP is up the creek without a paddle.

very nervous first time crew member says to the skipper, “Do boats like this sink very often?” “Not too often,” replied the skipper. “Usually it’s only the once.”0
