EDigital Survey Malware

Morning, my laptop has developed an annoying problem this morning, the Avast (Free) software keeps popping up saying it has blocked an attempt to infect my computer by Edigital Survey malware. I have had a look online and there seems to be a variety of slightly differently phrased versions of the same thing. The tips to remove this problem seem also to vary. Not being sure of whether these 'tips' are genuine or not, I am loathe to try from unknown sources. Does anybody have a definitive answer for how best to get rid of this infection? In the meantime, I am running a full scan. Thanks, Jack

I was about to start a big essay involving using malwarebytes and adw cleaner but that link says it all.
Very thorough and in laymans terms ..

I have tried a full browser clean up both firefox an internet explorer. Still the same issue?
Any other ideas anyone?0 -

Read the thread
User malwarebytes and then adw cleaner
Your problem will be gone.
PS There are some fake versions of ADW cleaner out there believe it or not.
Only download it from toolslib.net0 -
Probably a false positive. Wait for avast to fix soon.

Or completely uninstall avast and be rid of its resource hogging tendencies forever !!
Microsoft security essentials will do the same job and its free.
You would think that if avast is detecting this threat, it would actually do something about it !
