redruby I'm glad your mum's OK xx
Strong-willed dog (to put it mildly). Stressed out me. My sanity has been saved by a KongI've been trying to order some strong balls too – recommended by another OSer, thank you! - but my paypal is playing up. I'll give the cash to someone else and ask them to pay for me. Please pass the wine.
The weather was odd yesterday – wind, rain, sun and hail. We had some thunder too, as soon as it started I got Scampi to sit next to me by the window, hoping he'd learn not to be scared of it. He was fascinated by the hail, his little head was tilting from side to side every few seconds. Then he realised it was outside the other window too and didn't know which one to look out ofWhen he heard the thunder he trotted to the door, I crossed my fingers and let him out. He just seemed intrigued. Nice to know there's something he won't bark at

I did nothing yesterday, I seemed to hit a wall and couldn't manage anything. Felt guilty til I gave myself permission to do nothing then I was fineI've got a lot to catch up on today, I've made a start but haven't got dressed yet. Just waiting for the last of the trus to leave then I can get on properly. The shopping's coming between 1-2pm, hopefully I'll have everything done by then. Once that's put away I'm having the rest of the day off

Last night we had a sudden downpour with huge hailstones and then thunder and lightening. I just managed to bring all the towels and pillow cases inside from the washing line in time.
Put gas fire on in living room and arranged all the stuff on a clothes horse, sat down to watch tv and the lights, tv etc all went off. After
checking the circuits realised it was a power cut so found a wind up torch and read a book for an hour.
Had a good afternoon with DD in hospital as met here and went to see the film about the royals and VE night which we enjoyed.
Older DD is coming over late tonight as she has a meeting up here for a couple of days so might defrost YS steak from freezer.
Have a lot of paperwork to sort and post later but going to do that around lunchtime and have a quiet morning with lots of tea and a bacon sarnie.

Glad things went better at oncology. DD accompanied us a few times and was impressed by how un hospitally and comfortable the waiting area was.

Morning all,
Going to the registrar today to register Daddy's death . Undertaker tomorrow. I am okay most of the time, but last night listening to the radio the DJ played Dolly Parton's "I will always love you" which set me off.:(
Going out with some friends for a curry tonight. It was arranged weeks ago, and Daddy loved a curry:T
Sun shining here, hope it doesn't rain.
Have a great day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Good Morning everyone cloudy but not cold here today, housework done, had my shower and Hound has had his morning walk. He Who Knows is off to have his tooth out at lunchtime so I'm planning on soup, scrambled eggs, jelly and custard, any combination of the above for supper this evening as he'll be more than a bit sore I suspect. Will spend some of this morning looking for some nice recipes for the weekend after this as DD and my Zebra are hopefully coming home for the weekend. Also looking for somewhere nice we can go on Saturday for a trip out that Zebra will enjoy too. I'm currently thinking maybe a zoo park or a local estate that has many grassy places for him to toddle about in and huge carp in the pond that you can feed. I guess it really depends on the weather doesn't it? I'm looking to get a blackout blind too for his bedroom here, DD has them in his room at home and he's sleeping much better as a result.
I'm going right through the house with dusting and vaccuming over the next day or so as I'm off (if HWK is OK) to DD1 for a concert in the Cathedral this weekend and hoping to be home on Monday before the rail strike kicks in, we'll see!!!
Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -

Hilstep - hope the registration went well. It's always a difficult chore.
Well, the roofer has finished! He's worked his little socks off in hail, wind, rain and sun, so no more water incursion. He's going to tackle the guttering later this week but that's not urgent.
I can't get a hold of the windows bloke, think I have his home number and can't find any trace on the web so will try tomorrow. I have to go out at about 4 o'clock and not back until about 9 so won't ring him then.
Weather has been sunny but that wind is still very nippy. Washing blew dry really quickly. I'm so pleased that I can now hang out washing.
I've cleared out the pile of newspaper from the utility room. My mum gives me one paper a week but it's a big one. Now that I'm more practised at the woodburner I only use four sheets per burn. They are now in a neat pile in the back barn. Just need that utility room less of a junk room.
Now off to get ready to go out and do my two hour a week job. Not much peace and quiet this week.0 -
Afternoon all
Just back from volunteering at the food bank. I always find it tiring-I guess its more interacting with people than I do on any other day of the week. Usually it's just myself and Mr Gintot until son still at home comes in from work.
Redruby glad you got to take your Mum for her procedure.
Elona and Hilstep hugs.
Well it's cottage pie for dinner tonight and I think I still have some kale. I am still feeding Mr G plenty of green leafy veg after the optician said he had the beginnings of macular degeneration in one eye. After a tense wait the consultant at the Eye Hospital said definitely no sign! Belt and braces.
I may have a nana nap in a mo- oh and it's Dgs's birthday today he's one. How time flies. They are coming over here in July August so very much looking forward to that.
That's all from Radio Gintot so have a good evening all.

Aw DUMPLING Max sounds so cute I am in love with him myself!
Good news JACKIE.
((((HUGS)))) HILSTEP and ELONA. I know it's time consuming to get there but, yes, I agree, there is a lovely atmosphere at St James Oncology unit. All the staff are so nice too.
SOS from DD this morning. She'd had a phone call from school to say the youngest wasn't well and could she bring her straight to us, to save trailing her back to school and ballet with the other two. So here she is, fast asleep with grandad! The other two not expected until 5.30. Spuds peeled and sausage ready to go on!
Got my hair cut, the poor hairdresser didn't know where to start!! I feel much tidier now! The washing dried outside in no time but still a nithering wind out there. So the weeds are all still there waiting for a warmer day!
take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Afternoon all,
Cold here, although wind has dropped, is it really 20th May??
Slept very badly last night, no idea why, was just finished a late breakfast when neighbour called to ask if I would take her OH to A&E, had a letter from GP, but she has never driven. Took them in, parked and waited a while until she had contacted younger son, who lives about 30miles away, he was on his way so I carried on to knitting group...will call over later to check on progress....apparently his blood count has beenfalling for a bit and is now very low.
DD4 was in hospital for a check up, she is now 22+ weeks, it is a mono twin pregnancy, they may take her into hospital at 26 weeks to enable constant monitoring for safety, am not going to tell OH details of risks as he would panic and drive us all mad!
Got my new mini denture yesterday, its very difficult to insert and extract, back tomorrow to see if it needs adjusting, OH cooked steak for dinner so I had to cut it very small to avoid much chewing, as its painful. It will take less than a week to bed in so I shouldnt complain.
Special hugs to Elona and Hilstep.
Need to go to brothers to water his beloved plants.....his younger son is staying while he is away, but is not trusted with the watering can.
Have a good day everybody
