Do you have a front garden?

YesYes but I wish we hadn't.
Same here, our front garden is huge and is in 2 sections divided by a drive. Before you think we are very posh its an ex-council house and the way the plot of land was divided up meant that we got this enormous front garden.
Most of it is down to flower beds and lawn. It takes quite a bit of work keeping it looking nice though and we just dont have the time.
As for garden waste, we pay £36 a year to have ours collected twice a month by the council.0 -
Yes, I have a large front garden with about 150sqm lawn, rockery, hedges and borders. There is also a large driveway and double garage.0

YesWe have a small front lawn surrounded by what we laughingly refer to as a "flower border". More like weed border - DH loathes gardening and barely knows a nettle from a nasturtium, and I'm scared to be out the front on my own, so it only gets attention when he's available to be out there with me.
Be better off paved or astro-turfed, imho.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
YesThe vast majority of the houses on our road have paved over the front garden to provide parking for one or two cars (depending on the width of the house). The road looks duller as a result and there's hardly any kerb space left for anyone who has chosen not to do so to park their cars. Worse still, people who've got two parking spaces in what was their front garden, often have three or even four cars in the household (because they're big houses, so they've often got stay-at-home adult offspring). The upshot is we usually can't park in front of our own house (which gives concerns for us not being able to keep an eye on the car) and there are times when we can't even park in our own road. Almost all (of these houses have accessible garages at the back, but most people don't use them to keep their car in (we have a garage, but we're at the end of the road where the access road is too narrow for modern cars and, in fact, our garage isn't big enough for a modern car anyway).0

YesWe have a front garden, a lawn with a border of flowers around it, (also a few pots). It is adjacent to the drive. I would hate to not have a front garden. It doesn't take much looking after and is lovely to look at. The flowers encourage bees and buttlerflies0

Maybe the UK should adopt the system that is used in parts of Japan where, if you don't have off street parking, you can't have a car.0 -

In a country where land is so expensive and much of the year cold or wet it would sensible to be that more underground parking featured in new build developments.0 -
YesYes, mine is a wildlife haven with some precious plants: peonies, arbutus, acanthus, etc etc - total contrast to next door's completely paved sterile area.0

YesI've a small lawn with a huge tree and lots of pots. I prefer a lawn and sometimes hedgehogs come by and it's also better for them to keep it natural.0
-
YesI've just been out there mowing the grass.0
