Yes we have a square front garden , a lawn with flowers and shrubs in the surrounding border, we also have a 3 car tarmacked drive. My immediate neighbours also have grass lawns at the front but lots of others in my road have concreted over their front gardens .

Yes. I have a small front lawn with a hedge to one side. I'm one of 3 houses tucked away so we can't get cars here. The houses which overlook the courtyard parking all have small front gardens most with hedges to the front.

Everyone here seems to appreciate their gardens and space however small, so everyone has some sort of green in front even if it is a small patch.

Our front garden has been been laid to Tarmac, but I have a large hanging basket by the front door and 2 planters under the kitchen window with a half barrel also by the front door, all of which have been planted up.The kitchen is in the front of the house so prefer my back garden to look nice. We have a large pear tree pretty close to the house which has become a feeding place for the birds.

Well, north facing and low maintenance spells one of my very favourite options...a moss garden. Absolutely stunning. Try googling moss garden or moss lawn for some images.

I think moss gardens look good too.

I guess another alternative would be a camomile lawn.

I'm just the opposite. When I see house a new house come up, I skip to the end of the photos to see the garden.
If I like the garden, then I go back and look at the house itself.

Yep...when I was house-hunting I instantly wanted to see photos of the garden and would reject any house without one. I had to compromise with my current one - ie by being able to see I could turn it into a garden (rather than having a garden right away as I want:().

I was prepared to "forgive a lot of sins" in a house for the sake of a decent garden.

When we moved into the current house, the front garden was just a gravel drive, capable of holding 5 cars and a camper van. After 20 tonnes of gravel and hardcore removal, 16 tonnes of topsoil import and a driveway laid by a local gardening / landscaping firm, and a few thousand in expenditure and a hell of a lot of work by us, we now have a front garden and a two car drive.

Reckon it would pay for itself in curb appeal alone if we were to sell - the house looked completely !!!!!! when we bought it - and we now have a great view out of the kitchen window whilst doing the washing up. The local blackbirds love it too ... we've had grandstand seats for quite a (literal) turf war this year.

Yes I have a front garden and I love it but hate it that people with dogs think it is exceptible for their dogs to do their business on, the people seem to look in the opposite way and pretend they did not see anything. I have tried may times to grab my phone so I can take a picture but I'm always slow.
