Huh, where did I say to send 100+? Read my post again...
Perhaps you may need to read them again and get the context straight0 -
My reply was to bsod, the 100+ was in response to Jo's OP, and I did read your post suggesting batches, which is a good idea, but my original post was in response to bsod, these posts were 20 hours before yours, sorry I didn't have my crystal ball with me then:cool:

Sorry, my bad. It was late already. I could have sworn yesterday that you quoted me and bsod and replied to both of us...0 -
I've done exactly the same thing and it's very simple.
I decided to stop using my btconnect email address prior to taking early retirement as a precaution against changing ISPs to a cheaper one at some future date.
I set myself up a Gmail account.
I emailed my contacts individually although you can do it in small groups. I'm an iMac user and wrote a simple script using AppleScript, a wonderful tool for automation of tasks, to go through my personal contacts and send each the same email notification.
I then logged into my btconnect account via webmail and turned on email forwarding on my three BT email accounts to my Gmail account.
I now only use Gmail but still get to see any mail sent to my BT accounts.
I worked my way through all my regular websites, forums, banking, insurance, etc. and changed my email details. Any you miss will show up as forwarded from your BT account and can then be dealt with accordingly.
A few people ignored the notification or didn't know quite what to do, most were fine, and after a while I stopped getting emails forwarded from BT, job done.
I haven't logged in to my BT mail for nearly three years now and only get the occasional email 'offers' from people I once bought something from. Most I ignore but occasionally I'll notify them if I think it might be useful.
It isn't an overnight process and you will miss people or companies you only deal with occasionally but a little time and patience is all that's required.
^^This - Great post0 -
I emailed all the person's contacts today and everyone has been informed of the change of email address. Now I have the talk21.com emails to change over to Gmail.
Thanks everyone for all the help!! :T :A0 -
The alternative to forwarding emails from each account to Gmail is to use Gmail Mail Fetcher. In addition to checking for new emails in your other email accounts, this feature (based on POP3 protocol) will import all your historical emails from your other accounts aswell, useful if you want everything in one place. You can also send emails using your other email addresses from Gmail.

I didn't know about the fetcher.
Thank you. Every day is a school day.
I have no current use for it but it's very good to know for the future. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

It sure is if I click on that link my FF crashes , mind you that is on Fedora, I will investigate in a moment.:undecided
FF OK on Mint and the Mac.
That said I've been a FF user for years but there seem to be more and more issues lately that cause problems of one sort or another.
I've tried Chrome but I just can't warm to it.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
