That's correct but it doesn't stop you complainingThanks for the info, it's interesting to know it isn't always a straightforward process.
As it is starting to cause a number of problems for me I'd love to raise it with ofcom but I thought they dont investigate individual compaints? According to Ofcom's website "Ofcom cannot investigate individual cases".
Whilst they don't investigate individual complaints I get a feeling there's been lots in the last few monthsIt's not just about the money0

I've just been told this won't be sorted for at least 72 hours not including the weekend, and the problem still might not be fixed.
I'm getting to the point where I've had enough and starting to think my number is gone for good.
If your phone number is important to you stay well away from Sainsbury's or Vodaphone. There porting systems are an absolute joke.0

Hardly acceptable waiting two weeks to port a number if it ever happens
Perhaps an email to the MD Richard Crampton and hope someone can take ownership of the problem.
It should be richard.crampton@sainsburys.co.uk but check it doesn't bounce. If it does ring the head office and ask for his PA for contact details.
Ofcom stipulate reasonable compensation must be paid if they fail to port within 48 hours so make sure you press for it once the porting has been doneIt's not just about the money0

Good news! my number port has now been completed
In all it took 8 days, and I sent an email to the CEO but didnt get a reply. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it :think:0

Well that was a bit of a waste of time and effort.
