What's my address?

Good luck trying to get to the bottom of it.
Reason I used the council tax one was thought this would link to my credit profile (rightly or wrongly), and made sure, as others have said, that I always used the same address variant for applications for anything.0 -
Have you tried doing a fake insurance application through a price comparison site and seeing what the options are when you stick in the postcode?Make £2026 in 2026

I tried getting a buildings insurance quote using Confused.com through Quidco for the £1.80 cashback (very MSE
) and they list 3 Pigeon Street as well as 3A Pigeon Street, 3B Pigeon Street and 3C Pigeon Street for the whole block but not the floor positions.
Amazon also recognises the 3, 3A, 3B and 3C addresses but not the floor positions. Amazon also keeps trying to add Aberdeenshire to the address even though Aberdeen isn't in Aberdeenshire but that's another issue entirely.
If Flat C, 3 Pigeon Street is what's written on the deeds then I guess that's what I should go with. Whichever I choose, I'll just have to be consistent.0 -
Just pick the address you like and use it. That's what I've done although I have found that gas and elec and water companies choose what they like and they all choose slightly different. It doesn't cause problems.0

I had three addresses for a flat that I owned in Edinburgh, I used the one that I thought would be easiest to tell people, but some organisations, such as the council, insisted on using the one that they liked.0

This can be very annoying - I've had a credit card application declined because the address on the council tax bill didn't match the address I used on the application (the address preferred by the Post Office). As for electricity and gas, they are a law unto themselves when it comes to making up addresses (especially for flats).
Don't know why it seems so hard to get it right.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
