Cape Verde holiday tips

It is known to be windy, but not all the time. Some months are worse than others.
I would definitely go back, Boa Vista was beautiful and very relaxing and the one day trip we did was fun (we got to see whales from the beach), but at the moment, there are more places I would rather explore before considering it again.0 -
I went to Boa Vista for Christmas in one of the Rui hotels. We struck lucky and managed to get into the Adults only section - which ws just a great decision! Hotels are very big and somewhat impersonal and for the most part there is nothing to do there, but if you want a chill by the pool/lots of heat holiday it would be great. Don't think I'd go back - just a bit 'samey' for me.0

You can volunteer with a turtle sanctuary if you want to fill up your days!

i have been to riu touareg in jan and loved it. nothing to do though except eat drink and relax which is perfect. quadbiking is stunning trip too.
the wind in the day was lovely as it meant it was easier to sunbathe. bit chilly of a night though.
we just booked karamboa for june.
anyone in this thread who has stayed at a rui please see my other thread about the loyalty card offer - link at the top of this msg.
any questions about touareg im happy to answer. xx0 -
We considered Cape Verde but it seemed too similar to Canary Islands in terms of big hotels and loud families. We've booked to go to The Gambia instead over New Year. Cheaper, small boutique hotel and possibly more interesting things to do.0
