T-Mobile to EE via PAYG interim
Hi,
I'm currently with T-Mobile, and having read on EE's website that they could transfer numbers from T-Mobile and Orange, I went ahead and bought a new pay monthly EE SIM.
Bad idea. Despite what it says on EE's website, you can't transfer your number from a T-Mobile SIM to an EE one using a PAC code.
What you have to do is go and buy a PAYG SIM from another provider (O2, Vf), transfer your number to that THEN straight away request a PAC code and transfer into EE.
A bit of a pain, but not the end of the world. My question is quite simple though:
How soon after buying the PAYG SIM can I request a PAC code to transfer my number to my new EE pay monthly SIM?
Thanks
J

After buying a sim you have to port your number to it first.
Then you can request a PAC almost immediately, but most providers would want a topup before they issue it.0 -
Thanks Grumbler - sure I can find a home for a PAYG SIM with a tenner on it, just wasn't sure whether they'd insist on a months' usage before issuing a PAC.0
-
They don't insist, but if you quickly port the number out to EE, you won't need any home for this sim as it will die and you'll lose the credit.0

Oh well, could be worse. I should have checked before I opened the new SIM I guess.0

I'm surprised Grumbler didn't get annoyed with your reference to a "PAC code"
.
Out of interest, where on the EE site did you see it say you can transfer T-Mobile to EE with a PAC?====0 -

It's like PIN number, I guess. Even the mobile phone companies' websites use the phrase.Out of interest, where on the EE site did you see it say you can transfer T-Mobile to EE with a PAC?
I can't find it now :-(0 -
Yes, both are in this Martin's blog that I usually post a link to when I am not busy:It's like PIN number, I guess.
