How does it work in Scotland ... Where will you go on may 29th if your purchase not ready?

Do moves usually manage to link up? Always a bit curious :)

We have already moved out of our house earlier in the year, we are in rented accommodation. We main reason we are moving house is to get our children into the excellent school! We had accepted an offer on our house in October but after 7 weeks buyers mortgage fell through.

Yes, most folk do sell and buy and its done the same day.

I will join in too :)

    1. Send all paperwork back to our solicitors regarding the sale of our property- will be done today (need to find a big enough envelope!)
    2. Buyer's valuation survey tomorrow- fingers crossed it stacks up!
    3. Buyer's structural survey tomorrow- hoping they don't find any horrors
    4. Mortgage appointment on Thursday to finalize our application. Not sure what is going to happen yet as we may need to increase our deposit if my husband can't be added or even look for a new cheaper house to buy!

    Let's update on Friday!

Yep, most of it cosmetic (needs updating). Boiler near end of life, cold water tank asbestos and a bunch of certificates (gas, electric, windows).

Solicitor got forms from vendors solicitors today - again all ok. A lot of don't knows on one of the forms but its a probate sale.

    No probate certificate yet:/

Wow toddler9 everything is progressing so quickly for you! We have no date for buyers surveys as of yet, I think we are a week ahead of you in terms of of accepting offer beginning to get a bit concerned as to me instructing a survey shows commitment to a property

We have had absolutely zero from buyer.

All solicitor info been submitted from us with all documentation. I walked it up today in a folder rather then posting - couldn't be bothered to buy an envelope big enough lol!

On my checklist this week is to not panic and keep chasing as to when the valuation is taking place!

Mid-week update, not 1 of my 3 targets ticked off yet!

We chased up the home report. Surveyor carried it out a week ago but they had to post it to the seller to authorise/check over it first before it comes our way (seller doesnt have email!)
  • We found out yesterday that our mortgage offer had gone to the wrong solicitor! I think it's my fault which is even more annoying! The details were updated yesterday so hopefully it's been resent yesterday or will be sent today.

I don't think I'll get an exchange date this week so holding off chasing again until after bank holiday and will see where we are next week.

    Update from me:
    1. All paper work now sent to Solictor for the sale of our property
    2. Buyer has had a valuation and structural survey done- just awaiting the outcome of both
    3. Full mortgage application has gone to the underwriters for sign off. Survey should be booked next week.
    5. Now to relax until we hear back from surveys/ underwriters then we can instruct our solicitors to start the searched on our house.

Hoping if things keep on ticking over nicely we will get to move by the beginning of July :)

I know! We have been lucky. To be honest I think I put the hee-bee-jee-beez into our buyer by saying we have had lots of interest in the house and she really liked it so is pushing it along as quickly as she can! That works for us as we want to move asap especially since we are expecting a baby in September!

I would chase up your EA to see what the buyers are up to. It could be they are having some delays with the mortgage company instructing a valuation or something like that.
