Items I am hoping will be done by the end of this week....
1. Our buyers will sign the missives to purchase our house!! We are in Scotland. They are looking to move in 29th May and our solicitor says all is good and we expect there will be no problems!
2. I guess then we go in to sign too?
3. We are waiting for our sellers to give us a refreshed home report for the property we are buying, surveyor carried out the home report at the property on wednesday last week!
What are your targets for this week? Be realistic! Stay sane, of course but feel free to add any of your own!

I'm praying that all enquiries will be answered so we can receive the contract pack (ftb's in England). First lot were sent out a couple of weeks ago and second lot were sent out last week. It's only been 5 weeks since we put our offer in and it's moved fast but geeez the wait is like nothing I've ever experienced.0

Hoping for the last survey to be back, the homebuyers report and the solcitior to have the pack from the vendors he keeps requesting.£2 Savers club £0/£150

Our sellers solicitor took over 3 weeks to send the initial pack, sooo slow!!0 -
I'm hoping we get a date to target exchange!
There is no chain. We have no outstanding queries and searches, valuation, homebuyers report and mortgage offer are all done. We should be good to go but our solicitor said this morning that exchange in May would be ambitious as there's only 8 working days left.... I can't figure out what takes 8 days!
We were hoping to exchange in May so we can give notice on our tenancy so keeping fingers crossed!0 -
Perhaps I was optimistic thinking we would have had the refreshed home report today since the surveyor was at the property on wednesday.... ah well, maybe tomorrow!0

How does it work in Scotland ... Where will you go on may 29th if your purchase not ready?
Do moves usually manage to link up? Always a bit curious

In 99.9% of cases, yes. Because in Scotland, the Entry Date is agreed upon when the offer is made and accepted, and rarely changes after that point.
In E&W, it isn't (agreed upon at that stage)0 -
No, you don't sign anything to conclude the contract - the missives are the series of formal letters between the solicitors that began with the offer.
Ah right, I wasnt too sure. So our solicitor essentially is signing our house off and we should hear when our buyers have signed and thats the deal done?0
