Can anyone recommend easy to use CAD for us to design our new kitchen. Have tried the main suppliers' online software but cannot really get it to work. Does not seem very scaleable for our odd shaped kitchen. Happy to pay for the right product,

http://www.sketchup.com/ In my experience most CAD programmes have a steep learning curve.0

Pencil and tracing paper works well.0

I've used and been happy with Sweet Home 3D:

for simple 2D I would go for sketch up as well, Its a simple scaling program, and can be picked up quickly, Powerful programs with 3D capability's take weeks to learn and years to master, Iv been using AutoCAD for decades and still struggle with certain features and newer versions, To boot they cost serious money solid works and AutoCAD are in the thousands to buy.0

I used Sketchup for mine. You can do 2D and 3D - you just raise your 2D objects up into 3D. You can download add-on programs that 'render' your plan too, with proper texture and lighting.
I'd call myself fairly computer savvy, but have no CAD training - it's not too complicated to figure out. You also download various ready-made models in that other users (with much more skill than me!) have made, e.g. the tap. Other bits, I just created my own materials from online photos - the oven and microwave are just cubes with the manufacturer photos as a texture on one side, the tiles are just a texture, and so on.

My eyes can't look at that! I'd be up all night thinking of my handle alignment !
