LADYSHOPPER I think you are right, the Urologists don't seem to take it seriously enough. Appointments and follow ups are few and far between and, in the meantime, I feel I am left to my own devices. I'm sure even my GP thinks I am making a fuss over nothing. I became aware of the cobfoundation last summer when I had to go for a 6 week course of Hyacyst treatment into my bladder. I read a lot of the forum posts on there at the time. (Incidentally, the Hyacyst didn't help!) I have tried many herbal remedies too that I have had recommended, in desperation!
You sound to be suffering far more than me and I wish you well with the operation and outcome. And thank you for your input. TA x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
No problem. I lurk on this board a lot but don't try very often!
Have you tried cystistat? I was given it, not sure why as it's more for IC than anything else. It's weekly installations directly into your bladder for 6 weeks, not as awful as it sounds! Supposed to have quite good results.
There is also a professor in London that specialises in IC, talked about a lot on the cob foundation forum. He takes bio films and tests all kinds of things to find the right levels, then prescribes mixtures of antibiotics. Seems to have helped a lot of people, although can be a long process.
In a weird way I'm looking forward to my bladder going, as hopefully it will be the end of my issues! It is a huge op, as im having a new pouch constructed out of bowel, and a catheter channel constructed that goes through my belly button (a mitrofanoff). I'm only 39 and didn't want a bag, so this is the alternative!0 -
Gintotmelinda - our school often have trips to Folly Farm, yet I've never been. May be worth a trip during h-t.
I'm not far from you, I'm in a nearby town that is on the coast.0 -

Evening everyone.
I don't seem to get chance to post everyday. No os happened as I have been on a course all weekend for my voluntary placement. It was really good and learnt lots. Dh has cooked dinner both nights as I have only been getting back after 5.30.
It's my dgs 1st birthday today, will be seeing him Saturday for his party. I can't wait.
I have ironed ds2 uniform and listed some more items on eBay.
Just had a chilled out evening, watching tv and crocheting some more of my never ending blanket.
Elona - glad yesterday went well for you all. Thinking of you and your family. It's so nice to read of your families memories of your dh.
Csarina - congratulations to your dgds news.
Hilstep - thinking of you.0
