The limit for each individual claim is £250, this is now a separate new claim from the others, he said it was minor and this is his reason for not fixing it, he has not said I have reached a limit, nor if I am still covered! The diesel pump mechanical and electronic is covered under warranty guide lines! So I don't understand why he is not willing to fix it? I will ring him back and see if I can get better answers?

Most likely the repair cost is more than £250.

You will have to persue the dealer rather than a warranty, 3 months is a short time for a car to last that you paid top dollar for, even one that is 8 years old.

Hi guys, I need information on what to do with a car garage that have had my car with them to get it repaired, but since finding the issue (which is minor), they are now refusing to fix it!

The problem they have told me is a leak/weeping from the diesel pump! This is leading to my car going into limp mode on the motorway and loss of power in lower revs and also feels like the car misfires!

Yeah, tell that to the first motorcyclist that drives over your oil slick.
Could quite easily get somebody killed........

How bad is it though? When they say a weep is it just a damp patch thats been building for the past 8 years?

Get onto the warranty company. Find out if the garage is spinning you a line, and haven't actually contacted the warranty.

BUT - a pump on a common-rail diesel will be a LOT more than £250... It's an 8yo car, so a minor leak isn't exactly unreasonable in SOGA terms. But, whilst the leak may be minor, it DOES need fixing.

Leak can't be that minor ifits putting it in to limp mode,

in terms of soga that's not black and white, it's an 8 year old item.

is the warranty with a third party or the garage? A warranty limit should mean you pay the difference above 250 not the claim is rejected.
Get reading the full terms as you may have a case of breach of contract.

you could play hardball and tell them you'll collect it when it's been repaired

Sometimes fuel pumps cannot be repaired. It depends on what is leaking. It it is a split in the ppe, then this is easy and cheap to repair. If it is leaking from around the joint of the outlet the pipe connects to, then this may well be non-repairable as some of these are glued-in rather than screwed into place.

A new fuel pump may cost up to £2,500+, so if the warranty company will not repair it, then chase the garage and tell them unless they repair it for free, you will be rejecting the car as not of merchantable quality.

This one doesn't feel right... There's a much more obvious one in another recent thread though.
